    Yeah I get it EPL is the comp. Just amazes me that participation goes up so rapidly while interest and crowds go down. You would think it would at least stay same or build even if at a slow rate. I remember a time when the A-League was very healthy. It was a good standard too. Now more kids...

    This is a great point. Football (soccer) is so big, in terms of kids participation rates. It is by far the most popular sport for kids to play in this country. It's staggering that this has not transcended into following the game at the highest level in Australia.

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing with these things. Everyone had the Panthers up there. Cowboys were the big surprise.

    Watching both Grand Finals, the whole event/production of the AFL just looks bigger and more professional by channel 7, or am I seeing things? RL usually beats the AFL for the actual game itself though.
