They've improved their roster no doubt , but this notion that Fitzgibbon is highly rated is a furphy , no one knows that , hes been an assistant & yeah a good one in a good system under a good head coach , same as Demetriou for Souths. Based on that unknown I can't have the Sharks any higher then 7th or 8th.
Lol!

Correct

But they won't know the result until after the 24 hour cut off to trim the squads.
Surely then at least players 18 and 19 should come in for Latrell and Murray, and Tedesco and Keary respectively.

I called Latrell's suspension pre game last year, would be absolutely madness to risk key players for a nothing match given home ground advantage really wouldn't be a thing at either venue

From our side definitely teddy to come out but the other probably JWH.

If parra wins, Friday is a dead rubber. The venue the following week makes little to no difference.

If storm wins it becomes a live rubber although there is logic in saying that the winner would get a tougher run to the prelim if 1v4 is Penrith/storm even though losing means they would be away to parra week 1. If the winner of our game does get 5th, they would be hoping for Penrith to beat cowboys so they rematch at 1v4 the following week.

For sh*ts and giggles, here is how the ladder would sit if there was no golden point and a draw was a draw:

It shows the unevenness of the draw that the Storm & Panthers have played 13 games and Sharks 9

take out Panthers and Storm and the rest have near 50% winning records -/+ 1 game

Is the Top 2 the new Top 4?

2022 marks the sixth consecutive season that the premiership winners have finished either 1st or 2nd.

2022 - 1st - Panthers
2021 - 2nd - Panthers
2020 - 2nd - Storm
2019 - 2nd - Roosters
2018 - 1st - Roosters
2017 - 1st - Storm

I think it says more about the comp in the last 6 years tbh. Lots of average to absolute rabble clubs, and mine is one of the worst.

Even numbered year.

Manly will be shit.

My one good prediction.

Never in a million years did I imagine "Homophobia" being the headline cause of what detonated our season however. At least they keep interesting.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing with these things.

Everyone had the Panthers up there.

Cowboys were the big surprise.

I don't think so

4 of those seasons featured the beaten grand finalist being outside the top 2

I’m very confident of the top 5 (though not the order), think teams 6-12 are interchangeable, Broncos will be the best of the rabble, but bottom 3 could end up equal spooners.

Few call outs for me;
- Manly will be nowhere near as good. Tom can’t be as good again, and they’re bottom 4 fodder if he gets hurt.
- Panthers will struggle as defending premiers and have lost some important depth - Origin time or injuries will sting
- Rabbits will struggle but still be better than most of middle teams
- Tigers/Cows will have same issues as each other. Expensive, ineffective 7’s, and coaches who team don’t buy into
- Eels will bottle it
Despite my Sharkies not going on to win it, I think I got more right than wrong, particularly the last point, just didn’t think it would be so spectacularly done!
