Team 20 - Who? Adelaide or Queensland 5?

Looking back and forward, it's all pretty obvious what the NRL want. 17 was always Redcliffe 18 PNG 19 Perth 20 NZ SI 21 Ipswich After that who knows, but Adelaide, Melbourne 2, Fiji and Wellington will probably put their hand up.

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

"And another Kiwi scores for Ireland" Famous words from the commentator in the RUWC SF. NZ v Ireland. Union makes me laugh with the global sport comments. International teams are still heavily propped up by PI players, Kiwis, Poms and South Africans. Scotland, Japan and quite a few other...

    Pacific Championships 2024

It's the NRLs job primarily to run the NRL. The fact that the national governing body of Australia steps in and has organised a 6 nation Pacific Championships and also intervenes to ensure England aren't left out in the cold is commendable. God knows what we'd have if left up to the IRL Relax...

    Pacific Championships 2024

There's a slight difference in popularity and revenue of those tournaments. I mean, the RLWC schedule and tickets are out 12 months in advance and hosts are known years before the event.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

The Storm are the way the are because it was absolutely necessary to have a successful, well run club in Melbourne. Anything less and they'd be the Rebels

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

It's happening already, love it. If you are World Rugby (Union), you wouldn't be on board with this either. Rule tweaks and messing with the international calendar etc. Love it! Go for it Union, I'm going to get the popcorn

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

Good post. The numbers don't stack up. The NRL and AFL have billion plus dollar broadcast deals but RA with $30M coming in has Australia's highest paid football player at $2M a season. Seems incredibly unsustainable to spend just under 10% of your broadcast revenue on one player at a time when...

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

Agreed, we've already signed two Wallabies without the exemptions with second greatest Union player of all time Koribete looking to come back also. Imagine the carnage we'd cause with the exemptions in place. Sualii made some comments about Rugby being able to provide big moments like...
