    WA BEARS

Haha nice one. You're kidding yourself if you think they didn't bring anything to the table and it's heaps more than Perth ever could.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Pacific and NZ still supply World Rugby Union with a large percentage of players though and if that declines it will hurt the game a lot. Look at the amount of Islanders and Kiwis in the Irish and Japanese squads

What will be Perth Red's excuse for not supporting the Perth Bears?

I guess the NRL will issue them the licence if they are willing to set up shop in Perth. They could still have their Sydney base, just relocate NRL operations to Perth

    18th club, whose next?

Also it's been reported that Cummins has zero relationship with Vlandy's, not even a coffee or chat. If true what did he expect? He's not handled the politics of this well at all

What will be Perth Red's excuse for not supporting the Perth Bears?

To answer the question by the OP... Because Cummins will be cut out of the deal and Perth will go ahead with just Norths and WA Govt support

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

A couple of examples might be the minority, not the majority. Also, what are the historical reasons I wonder why just about all schools play Union and many don't play League? Can't think of why...

I would love Perth to be in the NRL, but you don't get in without bringing something to the table. Perth is a nice to have for the NRL rather than being essential so they have to show they are viable and they have to pay tribute to the clubs that dug the well and made it a billion dollar sport...

    WA BEARS

I can't believe consortiums think they can join a billion dollar sporting league without paying a cent.
