    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

I didn’t say what you have implied. We won’t miss him too much in our full-strength team. I said King is already capable of pumping out decent numbers, and he may well get the chance this year. So don’t be surprised or think the Storm have magically got blood out of a stone that we couldn’t...

    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

I think King did get motoring in 2021. You only have to look at the numbers he was already producing. I felt like this was a coming of age season for him. The games in which he played more than 30 minutes, which were generally because of injuries and so he actually got the chance to show what...

Yeah Phythian had a crack in his time in first-grade. Glad to see him back.

We keep hearing this about Roosters signings. The Cheese persona has jumped the shark.

    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

Yes I feel Joey is coming in to rip up our attack and start again. I think given the halves we are chasing it’s more likely they want Ponga at fullback than 6. But if Brooks doesn’t come and we start looking at players like Drinkwater(a borderline first grader) who are also not being released...

    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

He straightens and digs yes. That does not make him a super talent. It makes him a smart footy player who distributes to the damaging guys outside him. Something Clifford and plenty of halfbacks should be capable of. If Reynolds is a super talent what does that make the 10 halfbacks that have...

    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

Reynolds is no super talent. He is above average and plays smart with experience. Walker is a gun. He is what we want Ponga to be, and Ponga absolutely is that talent and more. There is no reason talent wise that Clifford and Ponga couldn’t develop into a Reynolds and Walker type combo over...

    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

I don’t see Best as unfit. Euan Aitken was a stocky centre for years. He got switched to 2nd row halfway through this year and in his first game scored 2 tries, made 163 metres and 41 tackles. He scored two more tries over the next three games. The switch can be made and I don’t see why Best...

    Knights 2021/22 Off-Season

Young has a LONG way to go in terms of ball safety and reading defence but you can’t deny the athleticism. I’m inclined to agree with you. I don’t know whether centre or wing suits him best. I feel that Hunt can switch between either and would be a good foil for him. I want KP at 6. He plays...

Not to stick up for Brooks but he was playing behind a much worse pack than Pearce which should be factored in. Our biggest gripe was not being able to convert with the field position we had and sets of six

Ok, so no one actually knows. My take is the same as @Alex28 . We were offering King a new contract, but he took less to go to Melbourne. King is solid. If minimum wage gets you Josh King, then we need a couple more of him on our roster.

    Rumoured Targets 3

Some players are willing to take a haircut in regards to their salary just to play with the Storm and be part of Melbourne’s system. “The players willing to do that are the ones we want,” Bunn said. “A kid like Nick Meaney will be a good buy for us from Canterbury. “He’s one we think will...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Interesting to read that Josh King took a pay cut to sign with the Storm. They talked about him as a money-ball signing they look for down there. He’s a good chance of being in their top 17 I reckon.

    2022 Team

Without doubt he is big enough for second-row in my eyes. I could rattle off a bunch of names of good players he mixes it with in stature. Whether he is up for the workload I’m not sure. I hope Krystian Mapapalangi comes on this year. Meant to be a classy young centre/five-eight.
