Pyth was really finding his feet as a 1st grader when he got injured and then busted for coke. He was sensational for Burleigh in their premiership winning team a few years ago and seemed to have matured as both a player and a bloke.

I wanted the Knights to give him a second shot when he moved back to the Hunter after his stint at Burleigh. Super glad he's here now though, he offers plenty if he can find his best form and hunger to play. Oodles of talent
Do you think there’s a chance he plays 6 outside of Clifford?

Went and watched them train today. Ponga was playing a fair bit of 1st receiver and when he wasn’t he was doing a lot of support play.

Clune looked pretty good, looks like he has a decent running game on him. Good boot aswell.

Realistically? Probably not at this stage but he certainly has the potential imo

Probably a better chance of 14 or a ball playing 13 but I think he just needs to cement a NSW cup spot first

Says the rest of the squad has tested negative and will return to training today. Herald article says the planned boot camp in Brisbane has been cancelled.

Not to turn it into a COVID thread but it'll be nice the day we don't have to hear about someone getting it and we can carry on with it.

Yes, that will be years away though.

It was 7 months between Delta and Omicron. And we have had 5 variants of concern emerge within a 2 year period. With Omicron out and likely to run rampant around the world the next variant of concern is likely to be a mutation of Omicron, or Delta with many of those mutations still in tact so it's hard to see how this is going to end anytime soon.

Mmm not sure I understand the decision. Not like they'll be locked up and avoiding public until the new year.

"Our players will be asked to apply good common sense to both their own health and individual training requirements during this period.”

Who's coming back looking like Owen Craigie?

Seems like a complete overreaction. All they need to do is stop going to crowded pubs and clubs, and wear a mask if indoors. The positive seems to be that they’ll only miss out on 10 or so days of training because of the Christmas break.

I mean it's a nice break for them and I always believe in time off over Christmas and New Year.

However I can already predict AOB round 1 post-game conference.. "Look, we missed out on 2 weeks of our off-season which was crucial for team bonding and combinations, so we were a bit rusty, however, I didn't see this 46 point loss coming."
