If Josh McCrone is named to play the Sharks

Agreed re Aitken. I don't see his career remaining in the centres. I see him turning into a back rower. He lacks creativity and MacDonald will never see clean ball outside of him. MacDonald outside of Milne... Now that sounds like a weapon. A bit of Leipana about it.

If Josh McCrone is named to play the Sharks

The only reason Milne isn't in my team is because he isn't signed on passed next season. If he does get signed or if it gets him to sign, I'd put him on the left instead of Aitken. And I don't mind experimentation in the halves. Widdop to 7 is the most logical, but he has struggled when it...

If Josh McCrone is named to play the Sharks

Personally.. No.. I hate the idea of this being a throw away year. And, I reckon it was a bit of a media beat up about Field vying got the number 7. If it were me, I'd go down the avenue of trialling what Ian Millward alluded to in his podcast. If they really see Dugan as only a Centre, put...

    we lost but

Agree that Aitkin had a shocker. He looks so much better when he plays aggressively up and in. I was really concerned with the sliding defence used today. It was seriously ineffective.

If Josh McCrone is named to play the Sharks

The Dragons need a 7. McCrone is the only one we have. All the hype about Field. He is a 6. Mann. He is a 6. If Widdop was injured or still out of form, I'd be the first one saying give em a shot. But they aren't. People on this forum are so against picking players out of position yet they want...

If Josh McCrone is named to play the Sharks

McCrone did not play well today, I agree. But I guarantee Mann and Field would have been worse. Neither of them are organisers, they don't talk enough. They are both running 5/8's. Basically Benji Marshall again. And to top it off. Putting either of them behind a forward pack that played well...

    Sack mcgregor

You can hardly blame the Coach for the amount of ball dropped. And McCrone, on top of that was playing behind a pack that was out muscled, which is a scarier proposition if you ask me. Our game is based on our forwards dominating the middle of the park. The Dragons were ill disciplined today...

If Josh McCrone is named to play the Sharks

But he played well in round one. It is almost like you are giving him an ultimatum. I'd rather give McCrone the 7 as we get bashed by the sharks than subject Field or Mann to that stunting their development.

    Game vs Parra

LAM was one of our better forwards I thought. But not many of our players played well. Widdop looks good this year but the rest had too many errors which nullified any possible momentum. And I don't get why we kept going right. Our left was so much more potent but they kept giving it to die...

    Game vs Parra

How come we were so reluctant to attack on the left. We went to the right time and time again... We scored almost all out points down the left last week

    Rate Gareth Widdop

James Hooper reporting on NRL Tonight that the Dragons are considering re-signing Gareth Widdop as a Fullback next year and shifting Duges permanently into the Centres.

    JDB

I still have high hopes for Dufty. He was quiet in the Cutters game and he hogged the ball a bit when there was points on offer. But he did look dangerous, he always pokes his head through. Jai Field and him would be a lethal little combo of whippets.

In the Tele, they summed him up pretty well in the player ratings. "has the footwork of the ballerina in a sledgehammer's body"

Matt Head was the Blue Shirt trainer, I saw him have a few convos with Widdop after tries and stoppages etc.

apart from Cartwright? He was the worst on ground. JT got a hat-trick running over the top of him. 7 missed tackles and a few offloads he threw either did nothing or went to us.
