    The player pool depth debate

Looks like a lot of grass roots competitions are starting to suspend or even abandon the entire season for 2020. (I for one was looking forward to lacing up the boots and going around again) With that, I start to wonder what the impact will be for future numbers in the game, not just at the...

Impact of Corona shutdowns on Future NRL expansion..

Would alleviate the closed borders issue in future.

    NRL Expansion. Ideas and opinions.

Hahaha yeah, I’m not wedded to either team, so long as there isn’t a bye.

    NRL Expansion. Ideas and opinions.

There's already no guarantee that any of them will remain after the weekend. https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/03/16/warriors-wont-guarantee-theyll-stay-in-australia-after-round-two/ There are a number of contingencies being floated including byes, etc. Maybe they could get Redcliffe to fill in...

    NRL Expansion. Ideas and opinions.

True! If they can afford to bank roll the two teams it would take to do that. I know the expansion bids bring their own money but the NRL still needs the $13m grants for them.

Impact of Corona shutdowns on Future NRL expansion..

I wouldn’t think so. It’s a federal government directive to cancel all events over 500 people. If the NRL has to suspend games because of the virus it would come under some clause in the broadcast deal. Much like the “act of god” clause currently being brought up in the collective bargaining...

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

I know it’s not true, I was using it as an example of how saying the southern cross is a symbol of racism is a ridiculous claim just because a few people used a common Australian icon for a negative purpose.

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

Pretty sure it goes back a lot further than the Cronulla riots.... and even with that, you could claim a lot of iconography as racist just because a bunch of buffoons used it to represent their cause. It’s like saying the bulldogs logo is a symbol for rape, inappropriate behaviour and violence...

    NRL Expansion. Ideas and opinions.

As the first round of the competition kicks on and the coronavirus now forcing the NRL to play games in empty stadiums for the foreseeable future, what impact does this have on future expansion plans? The NRL’s initial predictions are that the financial loss will cost anywhere between...

    Promotion and Relegation!

To be fair, we don't really because the NRL doesn't even know how many teams it wants in the top tier. Apart from the current bids vying for an unknown number of licences there really isn't the amount of interest, particularly from international teams, to join in the NRL bar maybe PNG and if...

    Expansion Team Names

What about Mammoths as a team nickname? Just a random thought but could be good. Big, strong, hairy animals... sounds a lot like some NRL players... lol They could use a brown and white colour scheme, maybe with a bit of arctic blue trim. Could be cool and fairly unique.

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

Except that the word 'Baron' is a title and is not specific to a pilot. It's just associated with a pilot because of the Red Baron as generally pilots/officers were from a high social standing. The term Baron is actually one of the lowest ranks in social hierarchy. This is why Bombers (not that...

    Expansion Team Names

Yeah, I just saw that. The Eastern Suburbs and Sydney City logos are the wrong way around. Sydney City came about in 1995 and then 2000 with the Sydney Roosters. I think they also ditched the original rooster logo because it was too close to the French RU.

    ARLC to meet expansion bidders.

This one from the 2007 season wasn't too bad. Incorporates the old and the new whilst giving a nod to their establishment. A tune-up of this would work.

This could work seeing as the Townsville Crocs are gone now.

Unfortunately there is already a Brisbane Bandits in the ABL so it could only be Barons

Played as Easts with Easts on their logo. There is still A tigers in the NRL, meaning it is unlikely a second team named the tigers would be brought in. One would have to change. Anyway, I'm done with your petty, narrow-minded and mostly illiterate ramblings. Have a good day.
