Just another random concept to throw out there. Thinking these guys could be based out in West Brisbane but play their games in Suncorp. I know it's similar to the Cowboys though so would be tough getting over the line. The colour scheme is fairly unique though.

Whilst the NRL club is named the "Sydney Roosters" the owner of the licence is still Easts. If they wanted to they could name themselves Easts tomorrow. Its still all over their training gear, memberships, social media, everything.

That being said, Easts Tigers would still need to change their mascot if they were to be inducted into the NRL, otherwise we'd end up with Easts Tigers vs Wests Tigers.... and thats just not what you want in a professional competition. You want unique, distinguishable brands/ colours, etc to sell. They are all businesses after all.

As far as Redcliffe goes, they could keep their name and mascot but would probably need to adjust their colours slightly to avoid clashes with the Dragons but this isn't as big of an issue. The risk they run is maintaining the Redcliffe name if they intend to represent a wider area of Brisbane and play out of Suncorp.

Roosters were EASTERN SUBURBS ROOSTERS not EAST SUBURBS ROOSTERS am i wrong
east roosters, i dont remember that name

just let the name east go, let east Brisbane use it
then we go EAST BRISBANE BENGALS, makes sense
no clashing any name or mascot
Queensland cup has 2 seagulls clubs, am i right

nsw cup has 2 magpies clubs

redcliffe dolphins is very nice, works out, everyone will know and learn

Easts is the shortened version on Eastern Suburbs. Any long time rugby league fan would know that. The Easts in Easts Tigers doesn't stand for East Brisbane, it is Eastern Suburbs Rugby League Football Club.... pretty much identical to the Roosters. So I would dare say the Roosters would have something to say about a new/another NRL club using the "Easts" name.

"If the tender process went ahead, we would need to look at our nickname because we accept that the Wests Tigers are already in the competition,”.

“We would have to consider other alternative names."

- Brian Torpy, Easts Tigers Chief Executive

Even the Chief executive of the club acknowledges that they would need to rebrand because of the Tigers and I doubt they would be heading down the Bengals line. Its essentially the same thing.

Yes, both QLD Cup and NSWRL have teams with the same name but they are only semi-professional and there isn't necessarily a licencing scheme to deconflict the brands. Essentially it is which ever clubs are willing and able to cough up the cash to be included will be included. You will find many double ups in those lower grade competitions. There aren't many, if any, full-time professional, national competitions that have two teams with the same name. It just doesn't work.

there is no EAST , EASTS , club name in the NRL , its sydney roosters
and east bribane tigers, or bengals

ok so there is NO east in the NRL right now
i cant see why east brisbane cannot use there name in the NRL

SYDNEY roosters has never played under the name east roosters
eastern suburbs roosters are not the only team playing on the east coast
what about western suburbs magpies
do you support rugby league or just the sydney roosters

Played as Easts with Easts on their logo.

There is still A tigers in the NRL, meaning it is unlikely a second team named the tigers would be brought in. One would have to change.

Anyway, I'm done with your petty, narrow-minded and mostly illiterate ramblings. Have a good day.

ok so;; east to win;; on there roosters jerseys in the 60s.
eastern suburbs roosters were there official name
but not now , and never will be again
its not the 60s now, that was a very long ago, over 50 years ago
most teams are on the east coast
why cant a team go with the name east coast sharks
east coast eagles
east coast dragons
east brisbane bats
east coast bengals

cause ;;east to win'' was used in the 60s

yawn

roosters has to many names, words,

its 2020 now , time to improve, expand the NRL with new teams, new names, mascots
on the east coast
do roosters claim to own the word city
as in Sydney city roosters
Sydney rooster were never officially named , east, easts , roosters anyway
always eastern suburbs roosters
bondi coast roosters lol
why cant eastern brisbane tigers use the word brisbane, or eastern, they have used them all there history
western reds
western suburbs magpies
its called expansion, future
not the dark ages
support rugby league

what about the words
BUNNIES
SAINTS
DOGS

The dude was OBVIOUSLY talking about changing “tigers”....

I dont think a club can own a direction.

Any qld expansion club is basing their identity primarily off an anti-Broncos position.

The most obvious “f*ck you, Broncos” and a mascot that rides a horse. Its why Cowboys is so perfect for the 2nd qld team

(And trying to avoid this has always been one of the great failures of the GC clubs)
