They'd rather one fan pay $115 and 3 others watch on TV in preference to 4 fans pay $30 each. Why? Do Fox and Nine determine pricing policy?

Not sure why you feel the need to tell me this. Are you saying inane negativity leads to higher crowds?

Should women (or anyone) play rugby league?

Extensive harms to body and mind from inactivity. Inordinate risk aversion stultifies humanity.

Should women (or anyone) play rugby league?

Cars and trucks hurtle past me as I walk along the pavement. Means that every day I'm a couple of metres and seconds from instant death. Should I stay at home? Is going out too dangerous?

    New women’s Rugby League website

They release the top 10 tomorrow. Here's my prediction, in no particular order - Hollie-Mae Dodd, Georgia Roche, Francesca Goldthorp, Jodie Cunningham, Emily Rudge, Chantelle Crowl, Sinead Peach, Tara-Jane Stanley, Caitlin Beevers, Keara Bennett.

And despite ingrained dismal inane negativity. Imagine what they could be with a more intelligent positive outlook.

I agree with the points about pricing, membership, game day experience, etc. Don't you think though that overall growth depends on the fanbase regarding wins and losses as merely one element of the experience, rather than the be all and end all? Pessimism would be forgivable if your club were...

NRL needs a generational cultural shift. More people attending games as they would other leisure pursuits. Check out the game day threads on this forum. Relentless vilification of players, teams, officials, games, and the comp as a whole. Nobody seems to enjoy watching RL. Just an exercise in...

    2024 Crowd Watch

If Warriors keep winning, their opponents will lose. Presumably the only hope for those losing teams is if they start winning. Which in turn means their opponents will lose. And so on, ad infinitum. Can you foresee a time when NRL clubs will attract good crowds irrespective of who wins and...

    2024 (W) Origin I - Thu 16 May - QLD 12-22 NSW @ Suncorp

Everything about Women's Origin 1 was successful. Crowd, TV ratings, game quality. The team with less match fitness started by far the stronger. Maybe it's unwise to apply all the beliefs and expectations we derive from men's RL to women's RL?

    2024 (W) Origin I - Thu 16 May - QLD 12-22 NSW @ Suncorp

Most Blues hadn't played any competitive games this year. Even the four who had a QLD Premiership team only played the first few rounds. And yet they all looked sharper than the Maroons. Read into that what you will.

England v Tonga 2017 RLWC, took Matt Cecchin about 5 minutes to persuade Elliot Whitehead to go back to the 10m line.

Can be a liability with ruck infringements. Continually on or over the edge of legality, irrespective of tackle count.

England RU got 58k at Twickers against France in the women's six nations last year. Underlines the trouble we have keeping girls in RL when they see events of that size. One of Union's most decorated players Sarah Hunter (MBE, CBE, World Rugby women's player of the year 2016) originally played...

Useful to some extent. Shows what that stadium could be if regular home support were as ebullient as contingents of Cowboys or Warriors fans.

    2024 R10 Sat - Melbourne 18-25 Cronulla @ AAMI

Captain's challenge encourages an OCD casualty like Atkins to imagine more phantom knock-ons. Storm get the ball, but what they can't have back is the chance to play with momentum against retreating Sharks defenders. By the time the bunker overturns the call, the defence is fully set.

Doesn't this demonstrate that ticket release and pricing policy in the NRL is all too often aimed at maximizing dollars rather than attendees? Some posters say lower ticket prices devalue the brand. Building a stronger attendance culture means appealing to casual and potential fans via media...

    2024 Crowd Watch

Are there any ways that genuine fans, who go to games and want to go to more games, can get across the legitimate reasons why they sometimes choose to stay away? By legitimate, I mean factors like pricing, ticket release, etc, rather than the form of the team they support. Who needs to hear it...
