    2019 Discussion

If merrin does leave and we make no other signs other than securing current players, this is the kind of side I'd eventually like to see run out. Ellis is solid, I just think we need to try for more off the bench. 1 Dylan Edwards 2 Josh Mansour 3 Waqa Blake 4 Dean Whare 5 Dallin...

    2019 Discussion

Yeah no the discipline thing is broader than just penalties - it's the errors, the stupid plays and as you said, the fact that we always seem to do them at the wrong time.

    2019 Discussion

I think it's important we get the choice of coach right in order to be a top four side. We need to pick someone who will fix up our discipline. We have the potential no doubt, it is now about finding someone who can get the most out of it, including our backline. We really do need to finish in...

    2019 Discussion

If you look at Cronulla though - their outside backs outside of Holmes and maybe Ramien aren't flashy. They do the job and are part of a well-oiled machine that starts with their halves which obviously then goes back to their pack dominating. Our backline would look better if our team in general...

    2019 Discussion

I personally see no reason to change our backline. Mansour still provides plenty of yardage and you can't fault his efforts. DWZ is still explosive as ever. Blake is our speed and has a great offload. Whare rediscovered his best form, is a bloody good defender and very experienced. Edwards is a...

    2019 Discussion

If Whare is on little money surely we keep him. He was one of our best in attack before the arm injury. Fast and had a great step - doubt an arm injury will impact that too much. May we can keep on little money but I don't think he's what we need off the bench utility wise. I'd put Luai there...

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

Those comments from Cleary sound very promising... he wants to get it over with quickly so he can concentrate on next year, keen to find out the coach etc. - why would he want to know who the coach is unless he is certain on staying. I would be stunned if he leaves.

Top four is an absolute must next year. It's that simple. Only way we'll have a chance of winning.

Finals Week 2: Sharks vs Panthers

It's incredibly hard as I don't think getting rid of Maloney next year is the right call. He was awful tonight but we don't make it to the finals without him. We were all on the Maloney bandwagon last week after all. In saying that, when Maloney spots a hole, rarely does he ever take it himself...

Maloney, JFH, Yeo or Kikau. I'd say it's out of those four. JFH is my pick.

    2018 SF1 Fri - Sharks 21-20 Panthers @ Allianz

Maloney will lift here and looks far more professional in the big games than Moylan/Townsend. Need the whole of our team to mirror Maloney's composure though as the Sharkies are a very experienced side. Graham out helps a lot as Cronulla's set plays in attack are better than ours. We really need...

Finals Week 2: Sharks vs Panthers

We definitely have the advantage in the halves. Cronulla's outside backs, and Holmes in particular, are quite dangerous. The Sharks are also better at set plays than us but may struggle without Graham. The clear key here is up front. If we smash them up the middle it will definitely make it a...

Finals Week 2: Sharks vs Panthers

Honestly normally we would stand no chance against the Sharks but with Maloney there I actually give us a really good chance. Breaking down Cronulla's defence will be tough but as long as we are strong in defence too we have a shot. Need the whole side to show a lot of maturity and composure...

Finals Week 1: Panthers vs Warriors

Good point. For us, evidently a lot of our players have had finals experience. But GF experience would be only Tamou, Maloney, Merrin and I think that's it.

Finals Week 1: Panthers vs Warriors

Good chance of lots of rain on Saturday but showing it may clear up in time for kick-off.

    2018 EF2 Sat - Panthers 27-12 Warriors @ ANZ

Tough game to tip. Hoping we'll be fired up because apparently the players were filthy after the Warriors game and wanted to make amends. Those suggesting we struggled to get past the Storm on Friday night need to look past the scoreboard. It was five tries to two. Goal kicking was all that made...

    Our run to the finals

Pity, would've loved the double header at Allianz

    Our run to the finals

Sharks, Bunnies, Broncos win all those games for mine. Only thing that's good about versing Warriors is that if we lose at least it's too a team I don't dislike. They're still completely unpredictable, my hope is we bounce back after being embarrassed by them a fortnight ago. Like vs Manly last...

    Our run to the finals

Where else would they play? We don't have to travel too far to ANZ. You can't make NZ fly overseas or Canberra go into another state.

    Our run to the finals

Nah. Cronulla have had the edge over the Storm and think they'll put it off. Then we'd play Melbourne and if we win that then Souths in Week 3.
