    9NOW is a stronger streaming platform than 7+. Its nightly BVOD results for MAFS blow everything else out of the water so I'm not surprised this leads to improved NRL figures.

    Any team sport that's not NFL/NCAA/NBA/MLB/NHL is extremely niche in the US. NRL and AFL games are middle of the night filler content for them.

    I was there and the crowd was 41,500 Collingwood fans and 107 Giants fans. I would agree with most here that Giants draw very poor crowds and audiences.

    Real fans should be attending games to support their team regardless of which stadium the game is played at. There is no reason a public holiday game between two traditional Sydney rivals shouldn't be getting 40k+.

    True, because Melbourne Storm used to host pre-season games there, and their administration was based there whilst AAMI Park was under construction. Balmain Tigers also hosted 2 home games there in the 1994 ARL competition.

    That margin itself is not insurmountable for a half decent team. It was more about Essendon's weak defence. Port were scoring easily like it was a training drill. The Essendon coach even admitted this after the game.

    What is your source for these STV figures? Just making them up as you please? Also, the Port v Essendon game was shown in WA, as there was a specific on-screen message for WA viewers advising them to stand by for West Coast v North while VIC went to 7 News.

    No, the same is the case for both codes (migration from FTA to STV). 9Now streaming is essentially the key difference, 7+ is a weak platform.
