    Luke Walsh

No. He is out for 4 to 5 months, assuming his recovery is a smooth one. He had a compound fracture. Those are vulnerable to infection so the estimate is probably a conservative one. However, we were expecting 12 months prior to his surgery. His injury was horrible to see. Since we are...

Soward, Do ya Love him yet

Well, I'm glad you don't want Walsh because he's been great for us at St Helens. We think the world of him. Sadly, though, in our game on Friday he broke his ankle so we will be without him for the rest of the season. I don't know why you all hate him so much. Maybe he wasn't happy playing...

    Sia Soliola

Sia has been a great player for us (St Helens) although this season has not been his best. If he was off his game during his final season with the NRL then I would bet that he isn't very good at maintaining his form when a move is on the cards. We have known for a while that he is leaving and...

    Rumoured and Confirmed Signings Part2

He hasn't been. The game against Wigan was by far his best performance of the season so far. Saints fans have largely been disappointed with him. He has only recently adopted a more professional attitude. He thought he could just get away with the bare minimum, since this is superleague...

    Luke Walsh

That is the role he is playing at Saints and as such he suits us down to the ground because that is exactly the role we needed. Our only halves are running halves and so he has slotted in very well. He can take certain kinds of pressure - he produced the sweetest of drop goals in the last 30...

    Luke Walsh

It's got his name in it, that's all I can say without singing it! And no, we don't think he's a wanker so that isn't it at all. Luke makes good things happen for our team. He got tackled a couple of times yesterday! ;-) (Scored a try, assisted in three, kicked 7 out of 9, but it was the next...

    Luke Walsh

He's doing great, especially given that he's not been here long. Just thought I'd add something to make people feel smug. Over here we have a couple of weekly RL papers (as well as a couple of monthly mags). One of them, League Express, runs an annual comp called the Albert Goldthorpe medal...

    Luke Walsh

He's had no problems making tackles since being here. I'm not sure that anyone said he was the 'in form' player in the comp. You'd need to look to Leeds for those players since they are carving up all before them pretty much. It's just that Walsh is providing what we were missing. We didn't...

    Luke Walsh

He came to us injured after the world cup so he missed the first few games and has taken time to get going. No big hits, no big runs but he does take the ball forward in the tackle. He looks pretty tame really compared to his Penrith days (as I saw them last season anyway) or in the world cup...

    Glad to hear it!

Yeah. I watch the NRL over here. Prefer our comp as we get to see less of the wrestle which slows everything down and kind of sends me to sleep. NZ Warriors when on form are probably the closest you have to Superleague style RL.

As a Saints (as in St Helens) fan I've read this thread and the Wallace one with interest. It's like you're describing a different player to the Walsh we are getting to know. Our pack dominated theirs in that match. Halves can't do a great deal if the pack isn't doing the business. Saints...
