    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

McInnes is another I'd love here, off contract 2025, can't imagine he'd be as motivated to leave what should be a pretty good Sharks side though. Would be a great bench middle that can also give Kenny 10-15 rest.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Fair play, that's the Roosters. Doesn't solve their problems, as much as I'd have liked him, I think it basically puts a line through them. Would love Crichton, tough as nails player that's had one dud year on the back of problems he appears to have confronted and gotten on top of and is now...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

No idea how true it was but supposedly they just missed out on Gagai yesterday. It really just depends what the guy wants from his career. If its money, he has better options. If its post career opportunities/jobs for the boys/a certain lifestyle, well go to the Roosters. If he wants to win...

Round 10 vs. Canterbury Bulldogs @Bluebet

Running and tackling is perfectly fine if you do it with energy and intent. That's basically all Martin is and with two working shoulders he's a top 3 edge in the game. Mav doesn't bring either.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

If Fifita opts to take the biggest deal he can, fine, I'd move onto Crichton with $850K and then Uto with $850K and then Sua with maybe $700K. If none of them like it, we're better off working with what we have until the right player comes along that wants to win more than they want an extra...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Hopefully we tell him offers on the table for 72 hours, want more, speak to the other clubs. I don’t want him unless he actively decides to take unders. Wgat I would like about the signing is the potential to activate our left edge. We’ve gone from an attack over reliant on the left/Kikau, to...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Without a signing I've got the below. I think Garner is the depth option if we do bring in a marquee middle/edge forward though. Obviously Tago going to the edge/back cover role on 50 minutes a game might be not at all in the plan. Edwards, May, McLean, Alamoti, To'o, Cole, Cleary, Smith...

    Round 9 vs. Souths @Accor

Well I’ll take the points in a game that we really could have blown similar to Tigers last year, however we are certainly no closer to hitting our stride. Tago will likely get 3-4 given Gray ended up with a syndesmosis and the judiciary is making calls based on outcomes these days. Great...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

The Broncos have the task of re-signing Staggs, Walsh, maybe Reynolds (or replace him somehow), Willison, Hetherington & Cobbo who are all off contract at the end of 2025. Even accounting for Reynolds retiring, they presumably will want to keep their Ferrari backline somewhat intact which means...

    Round 9 vs. Souths @Accor

I know Tago’s defensive issues lined up with returning from the pec injury but he also happened to switch to the right late last year. Things looked ok at first but it’s a tough position to defend decision wise and getting your body in the right position, maybe that’s part of it. I like Cole on...

    Round 9 vs. Souths @Accor

Interesting to see Lipowicz starting on an edge this week in Cup and Lisati going back to the edge lately. Maybe just shuffling deck chairs but it’d be nice for someone to stand up and demand an edge role.

    Round 9 vs. Souths @Accor

There’s really not due to be a stack of rain leading up to the game (9mm) and none in the afternoon/evening of.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Broncs have been blowing away crap teams. Sure they look more impressive than us against crap teams but that’s not overly surprising given how we each play. I’m more than happy for them to continue to belt teams. We play a game every week that is how we will play the game on grand final day. We...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Being 3rd is about what you’d expect from Penrith fumbling along. It doesn’t mean a stack though as we saw last year, the 3rd and 4th best sides were the length of the straight back from the top 2. I’d say Brisbane and Melbourne are the only serious contenders and they’ve been super patchy as well.

Round 8 vs. North Queensland Cowboys @Townsville

On the side going forward, I’m pretty skeptical of May as a centre but he’s a few games in and has been solid defensively. Tago is definitely the biggest issue in our defensive line and I’d absolutely be keen to see him take that 17 role for the time being. Geyer looks average and Garner is...

Round 8 vs. North Queensland Cowboys @Townsville

One thing I find interesting in the context of our sloppiness is the apparent license to spread early and push the pass a bit more on the edges rather than just blowing up through the middle. I’d say we’re playing a bit more football this year but it might be leading to a less controlled game...

    Penrith Panthers lower grades 2024

Assume Alamoti and Schneider sat it out because they’re travelling with the NRL side? Will be interesting to see how the halves look next week with Schneider/Cole/Toelau all available. Tough to leave one of those guys out and Luke/Sommerton doesn’t really leave a spot on the bench.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

There just isn’t a strong reason for Nate to leave. He’s the main guy. He stays here and he will be the greatest Panthers ever and very likely in the top 3 halves of all time along with a bag of trophies, records, jerseys and medals. Only thing would be to challenge himself but the constant...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Using Tito as a chip could be worth looking at as sad as it would be. We have Alamoti and May to handle it this year which could just strengthen our charge. If we flipped him to the Knivhts to cover the Ponga problem the only real options of value to come back would be Frizell (probably too old...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Hadn’t thought of Crichton. I like the option. I read the detailed interview he gave about his mental health challenges and he sounds like he has fronted up to a serious condition and done the work. He was one of the Kangaroo’s best at the World Cup only 18 months ago and he is now getting back...
