The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

This has been floating around for years. You have to ask, why? Who would use such a ’stadium’?

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Any Indian tour is now just as big as the Ashes. Indians here are keeping cricket alive. In my son’s last two cricket matches, 21 of his 22 opponents were from the sub-continent.

Being 5th in line is ok now, but with the IPL and associated leagues gaining prevalence, it becomes a problem in future years if there are only three or four tests each summer.

2025 NRL Draw news, venues, info

Plenty of other time slots for the Roosters if they get a home game Rnd 1.

    PNG's back.

Dolphins are already in the 17, so a nice round 20.

    Almost a dozen expansion consortiums

Do you think multiple bids in the one area is a good idea? Wouldn’t it be better if all interested parties in say, Wellington, worked together.

Upgrading / expanding old stadiums is generally a waste of time and money. Eventually they need to be knocked down. A new build is the go. Suncorp has about 15 years of useful life left. Why spend hundreds of millions for 2032 when the whole thing will need replacing five to 10 years later? The...

Reckon the should and will scrap that. The Lions and cricket can play at Metricon.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I know some on here would be happy to have a embarrassment of an Olympics as long as there is no new oval stadium, but you should know that the now most likely option, a rebuilt Gabba (either partly of fully) is easily the worst option for the AFL and Lions. Playing for four or more seasons in...

That fight will be somewhere in regional Australia. Long, long road back to being a genuine challenger or fighting in the US again for Tszyu.

He is $1.08 unbackable favourite. I have never seen anyone so humourless.

After his smashing last night, that won’t be happening. Two losses in a row for a boxer, he is just about cooked.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Geez he has chip on his shoulder about Victoria. Can’t talk about NRL or NSW racing without comparing to AFL or the Melbourne Cup. At least he is not silly enough to claim that the Everest is number one.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

It makes no sense that another Australian sport generates 50% more revenue than Australia’s number 1 sport of Rugby League. If Australians are watching 10% more NRL than AFL, then the next NRL broadcast rights deal need to be 10% higher than the AFL’s broadcast rights. Looking forward to PVL...

The same way as Perth. You build the main stand a couple of meters up off the ground, so you can place five rows inside the fence for rectangular sports. It brings everyone five rows closer. MCG is going to 105k, so would be about 107k with infill seats on one side.

    18th club, whose next?

Agree. These are the upper class PNG people that the NRL wants to engage. Only the rich can afford to sit on dirt and watch RL on a big screen.

The southern half of the MCG will be rebuilt in the next five years. Hopefully they allow for some infill seating, which is not possible at the moment.

$15m more than any other sport.
