Dallas Johnson key to signing frenzy

Biggest disappointment is that QLD will now keep a full bench during Origin...and they are already so hard to beat. Usually they start with 4 interchange players but when Johnson invariably gets knocked out, they are down to 3.

    Lote

If he plays on the wing it's a massive overpayment. Sheens has always been one to copy good ideas in strange ways. For instance, putting Moltzen at full-back to try and create another Hodgo (ball playing, small, fast man)...or manufactur props out of second rowers!!! I think Sheens is now...

    JMo lives on at WT.

He was also a really nice guy. I met him a couple of times post-match and he would actually have real conversations with fans rather than just a "nod and walk". I think a lot of that comes from his maturity. We desperately need some. The problem with having a whole team of young men is that...

    JMo lives on at WT.

Perhaps it's in honour of his superb cut-out ball against the Bulldogs in Round 26. He went out on a high note...playing as the half-back he never was for so many years.

    Opinion on the Hayne tackle.

I agree. They were two totally different incidents. And, although it's hard to believe that Hayne's "fame and status" didn't receive consideration, they shouldn't play any part. Smith's certainly didn't last year...except, if I was to wax cynical (or more cynical) I'd say that Smith's...

    2010 Draw "Wash Up"

We host the Warriors but the Knights game will be at Energy Australia. But, that's not a big deal. Better Energy Australia than Mt Smart!

    2010 Draw "Wash Up"

Looks like we play: Bulldogs, Cowboys, Eels, Sea Eagles, Panthers, Rabbitohs, Raiders, Roosters and Titans twice next season Broncos, Dragons, Knights, Sharks, Storm and Warriors once next season I'm pretty happy with that. Storm (home), Dragons (away) and Broncos (away) once is fine by me...

    Round 25

Round 26 doesn't usually matter...our season is over by then. But, due to that fact, we find our mojo and put on a show. Bulldogs this year and Titans last year. Also, Titans at Skilled isn't a hard roadtrip. It's an hour flight and the crowd is fairly balanced (for an away game). If you're...

I'll trade you a Payne for a Lowrie

I think you're all missing the point. I was talking about a value proposition. He's on the cheap and better than some of our others. I'm not saying "spend all our money chasing Locks and second rowers". I just figure he's a bargain for the money. Don't get me wrong...I would love to see a...

I'll trade you a Payne for a Lowrie

Well, we need a Lock! Lock is basically just "another back rower" the way Sheens plays it. I'd prefer one of the boys to specialise. Lowrie has been running harder than our "ladies up front". I'd love to have a Lock with a bit of Mongrel about him. Fulton didn't really get aggressive enough...

I'll trade you a Payne for a Lowrie

I know we desparately need props but, if we could release Payne, I would definitely go for Todd Lowrie. On the back of the Telegraph it says that he's on $170K, currently unsigned and the Eels only offerred him $50K. If you're a good enough lock to keep Mateo on the bench, you're definitely...

    Daine Laurie stood down

There was an article (I think when he got a Main Game spread) that talked about him "having trouble with the law". I vaguely remember it saying he may have served time (juvenile or briefly as an adult) but it may have just been lock-ups for minor, stupid stuff. Anyway, the crux of the article...

    Daine Laurie stood down

You're kidding! Having an uncertain employment future isn't an excuse/reason/justification/contributing factor to a domestic assault. I'm all for re-signing Daine (and also giving him a good hard kick in the a*se at the same time) but he's had a history of issues with the law. He's innocent...

Back of Johnny...he's good in position!

I think he may have found his mojo in terms of being "the Tigers version of Cooper Cronk". Johnny had a blinder in the dismantling of the Bulldogs. Superb two-man cut-out ball for that try. He's probably going to do a "Bronson" when he goes to the Sharks and become a hot buy! Even Collis was...

    Gallant signs with cowboys

Now Sheens has the perfect excuse to permanently play Moltzen at Full Back with no viable alternative. Looks like the experimentation will continue next year...

    Dane Laurie going ,going, gone..........

I agree. I don't rate Laurie as "the answer"...BUT...I would much rather see a Sheens experiment involving extra game time for a raw, mistake ridden young prop than putting the best 5/8 in the game out of position (again) and our best pick for half back at full back. It's not like out front...

    How's the Tiger dome coming

How can you possibly spend a whole day at Balmain leagues? And, a Wednesday at that!

    Lmfao!!!!!

Sometimes the stats really sting...how friggin' embarassing to lose more than half your games across a period that included a Premiership win! Every year I wish I could support a team where you say "oh, I'm surprised we lost one. Oh well, they'll re-group next week" rather than "oh, we won a...

    Salary Cap - 2009 & 2010

Smart sides sign promising youngsters to long contracts on decent-at-the-time (read: low) money and then get the return for the punt when they are experienced and still on the same contract (albeit usually sweetened by incentives). That was how Melbourne was able to field Slater, Smith, Inglis...

    We Need An Established Halfback

Agree. Sheens found one piece of logic ie. "Moltzen has played half a season at 1" to justify the move, despite all common sense and other team considerations (like the question of the 7) belying such a move.
