    2024 Crowd Watch

I agree with this assessment. Broncos will be the only 40k+ team for a long time. That said Dolphins, Rabbitohs, Bulldogs and Roosters are all capable of being 30k+ teams with 10-15 years. Storm, Eels, Knights, Warriors, Cowboys and Titans are all capable of 20k+ average, some in the 25-30k...

It's literally life or death time. I have companies that were 80% FTA spends now doing about 10% that former volume.

I'd estimate about a third of the ACA 2008 audience is now dead.

Compare the NRL demos for 16-39s to ACA's 16-39s. The NRL's 16-39s is a higher percentage of their overall audience, whereas ACA's majority viewership is over 55s and getting older year on year. What does this mean? In 10-15 years, more of the NRL's audience will still be alive and more of...

Not every player plays the full 10 months though. Players will play a couple of preseason games, then 24 NRL games (at most). That's about half the players in the comp playing 26-27 games max - in most cases even less. Players in finals bound teams will play 1-4 more, depending on their success...

    26 June expansion meeting (Predictions?)

Also there are 4 teams in Queensland, plus the Storm with big support, and their matches are spread across each day to boost interest. Single team states like Victoria or WA couldn't replicate that.

2024 TV and Streaming Ratings Discussion

I've said the same myself multiple times. But live sport is one of the few things that are propping them up. I've also said before that the NRL and AFL should prepare themselves for a potential period of stagnating and even backwards movement in broadcast rights as the transition occurs.

    26 June expansion meeting (Predictions?)

That's pretty much what I've suspected. If there's 3 bids that are viable, they will announce all 3 this year for staggered inclusion. They are going into broadcast negotiations and want a definitive timeline for the 9th & 10th games to extract maximum rights value.
