Rod McGregor - Men of League

Sad story about Rod McGregor, he was a gun back in the day. Worth the read. https://amp.nine.com.au/article/4fda4de7-a86b-4964-b331-8ebb6d8463ab

    Predicted 2021 finish

Incredibly after 5 consecutive losses if we were to win our final 3 games we’d probably still make the eight. But if we lose our last 3 games we could finish as low as 14th. I have us losing to the Roosters, beating the Cowboys in round 24, losing to Souths & finishing 12th. Depending on the...

Is 2021 hanging by a thread?

After a pretty poor run of form when we’ve lost 4 out of our last 5 & clinging onto 7th place but tied for ninth I think it’s time for review. We actually have a very soft draw. With rep season approaching & for once an unlikely Saints contribution to Origin (Hunt, Bird or Sims maybe) perhaps...

Win V Parra. Best win since the Bennett era?

I’m extremely happy with the win but I also feel we’ve only scratched the surface. Having said that the win against Parra was our best win since the Bennett era. Can we continue & make the top 4 like 2009?

    Ramsey No Try

I don’t think I’ve seen the Bunker overrule a on field try decision when the matter was not referred by the referee. Was the play challenged by Cronulla? If not does this mean every on field try decision is automatically reviewed now? Happened at a critical time in the match.

Trial form cause for concern? Or just teething problems?

Handily beaten by the Eels tonight after a loss last week to the Sharks. Trial form is difficult to read at the best of times but some of our defensive reads tonight have me worried.

    Shalom O’ofou

Happy New Year all. Anyone heard of this kid? He looks a great prospect at Lock. Big boy, mobile & loves smashing blokes in defence. Couple of the shots against Newcastle are awesome.

Happy New Year’s! Bring on 2021

Happy New Years boys & girls! Like everyone I can’t wait for the 2021 season I haven’t been this excited since 2009. I’m posting this blast from the past to remind us what winning looks like, can’t wait for the good times to return to the Red V. If anyone has Corey Norman’s email perhaps sent...

    Cameron McInnes

Cam McInnes weighing up his options for ‘22 & beyond. He’s not an idiot, he knows Hunt is contracted to end ‘23 & with the talented halves coming through it’s going to be difficult for Hunt to keep the 7 jersey. Analytics will say McInnes’s $500K could be better spent blustering our forward pack.

How much credit can Gus Gould take for Penrith’s great season?

With not much Dragons news around at the moment I was thinking about the Grand Final this weekend. Win or lose Penrith have had a phenomenal season 10th in 2019 to benchmark in 2020. Got me wondering how much credit can Gould still take? A) The team is stacked with local talent who came...

    Corey Norman

DRAGONS - Corey Norman Norman is off-contract at the end of next year, offering the Dragons a chance to offload the underperforming star five-eighth if they see fit. But his $850,000 a year deal means even still he will continue to take up a fair chunk of the side’s salary cap as they look to...

Dragons teams 2008 versus 2020 Hook has a huge job ahead.

As we all remember Wayne Bennett brought immediate success; a minor premiership in 2009 & a Premiership in 2010. So I’m wondering what expectations we should have for Hook? Do we expect a similar result in such a short period of time? Results do in a large part depend on the cattle so I was...
