The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I’m not sure what Rugby’s standards are, but I’d be surprised if Geelong doesn’t meet their media requirements; the refurbishment happening at the moment will bring capacity over 40,000 and is being set up to allow for international cricket for both women and men. Obviously it’s a long oval...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

A roof in Tasmania is highly practical, and there’s no real inner city land available for a ‘regular’ oval.

    2023-2028 next tv deal discussion

I remember there being talk when rights were renegotiated during Covid that 7 would drop some non game-day related afl content to reduce expenditure. It read as if these shows were tied to the rights contract as contra, which I hadn’t heard before. I’ll have a search for articles from the time...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Gippsland is slated to host rugby 7s at the 2026 comm games - this wouldn’t be a bad spot for Storm to bring games If the stadium has some sort of permanent legacy. I think this would be a better option than taking matches to suburban Melbourne areas like Cranbourne or tarneit.

95% is population over 16, it comes down when you consider the under 12s who don’t yet have access and 12-16 who aren’t included in many of the statistics

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

There are buildings built on sand that don’t even pier or pile down to rock; the Burj al Arab in Dubai for instance is one example of a building which doesn’t go to rock. I think the piers utilise the friction of the sand.

If I can’t get into a hospital because it’s full of people who don’t care about their own safety then I do give an f about them.

    News Coronavirus and NRL

A damning part of the article is that the nrl were aware. I hope they told the governments when they became aware and not wait until after it came out externally.

    The Game 2021 Crowd Watch

The segregating and sexist language in your quote almost sounds like it came from Vlandys himself, though is a long way from what would be a successful marketing campaign. campaigning to youth/families, local clubs, local nrl members of non participating clubs, minority groups etc should be...

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Someone at the club to alert someone else at the club to who would then tell the police would surely be a better look then the other way around, where they don’t look in control of their own situation. All comes down to luck though - I’m sure it would have come out either way.

    News Coronavirus and NRL

It’s not a great sign that the players were caught by police and not the club/nrl. it’s a bit difficult to assure Victorian and Queensland governments that players are living by rules that allow them exemptions at the borders and I can imagine any further attempts at exemptions would be very...

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Just don’t see the vic government allowing this without 14 day quarantine which just wouldn’t work. For reference the swans in the AFL currently have a squad of 30 something in Melbourne, with additional players currently training in Newcastle to allow them to move to Melbourne in two weeks if...

    News Coronavirus and NRL

May be difficult over the next couple of weeks if players aren’t all already isolating under guidelines approved by various governments to allow them exemptions. Last year benefited from the break and having time to organise players and staff, and coordinate with government.
