if they could build a stand at wollongong , they would have

they can't ....
Lol. You are refuting my evidence as to the fact it's possible? Ok. I wait for the day that Harry's tower on the Gold Coast topples into the ocean.
Wollongong has always been like Brookvale. People like hills but we are getting past that now.
The other 3 sides have always been given priority at WIN.

Also , the NE corner of the North stand at Wollongong curves around to the Eastern side.
That hasn't fallen down either.
Fulham in the EPL have just built a stand over the Thames.
Everton are currently filling a wet dock with sand and building a 52000 seater over it.
It can be done.
This is where Everton's new stadium is being built....
It is/was a working dock beside the River Mersey. Until now. And guess what, they are filling it with sand to displace the river's water.
I'm not being argumentative. I'm just stating that your claim that a stand can't be built on the eastern side of WIN Stadium is rubbish.

Manly's already getting a $30mil grandstand so they won't need as much cash from the $800mil to finish the stadium. Maybe $250mil all up? They only want a 20k stadium so they don't need as much.

Penrith's getting 25k stadium minimum so what's that gonna end up at closer to $300mil?

Parra was originally forecasted to be $360mil so i guess that's close.

That's not technically correct.
They have been easily able to build 200+ metre high rise towers in sand on the Gold Coast as close to the beach as Win Stadium is.

Harry Trigaboff himself is currently doing it.
You just need to pier down to rock.

There are buildings built on sand that don’t even pier or pile down to rock; the Burj al Arab in Dubai for instance is one example of a building which doesn’t go to rock. I think the piers utilise the friction of the sand.

you think the cost of building in sydney is the same as regional Nth Qld ??
Generally building in regional areas is more expensive than metro. So no I dont, I think it’ll be cheaper in Sydney, though obviously building markets fluctuate so depending on if boom or slow would impact cost.

It'll be kogarah not wollongong , theres nowhere to build at wollongong because the hill is sand based running down to the beach so nowhere to put & secure pillars for a stand there , its too unstable.
Theres stands at all other sides & all are pretty newish too.

Even if we get 2 new venues for 500 million ( highly unlikely) 150 million won't be enough to build 2 new stands at kogarah & brookvale considering these will need to be big 2 levelled stands that seat at least 10K people, otherwise why bother.
We'd need another 300 million for proper upgrades at kogarah & brookvale.
We build high Rises on sand, I’m sure it’s doable if there is room.

we buillt this stand around 12k seating with toilets, food etc behind for around $65mill 7 years ago. Currently the grass hill holds around 10k so you’d want to go to at least 12k. Though if you need a 25k stadium there is debateable given crowds they get.

You're clearly not an engineer. It is absolutely possible to build an eastern stand at Wollongong. It would undoubtedly be expensive though. I think they'd replace the south stand first though, it is almost 30 years old and doesn't fit in with the rest of the stadium.

Kogarah already half done so most likely will get the full extension as for win stadium its days are number as government want to sell it off to developers. It's prime real estate so the stadium will eventually be demolished for tourism operators.

so you are an engineer ? & why would it be expensive ?

oh thats right , because its near impossible
otherwise they would have before the sthn , nthn & western stands. I actually read about it a long time ago why it won't be looked at , just can't find the article atm. I will tho.

are you saying you cant build on sand or is it the proximity to the ocean that makes it difficult? Is there a certain distance from the tide line that you cant build beyond? It cant be because its on sand as most of Perth is built on sand! Given some major structures are built on reclaimed land, which is effectively sand surrounded by water I cant see any logical reason you couldn't build there.
Maybe they have just never had the funds to build another major stand so went with the cheaper end ones? You'd want the main west stand built first for sun/shade reasons which is why that is done.

Perth was indeed built on sand, Venice on a lagoon and Shark Park on marshlands.

can't recall the actual reasons the article is about 15 years old , i think there were several & maybe it was the lack of room & not the sand so much.
The pacific ocean is a pretty big hurdle to overcome

like I said , It'll be kogarah..
new stand there on the eastern hill seating 10K , maybe a roof on the nthn uncovered stand at a cost of
100 to 150 mill( with nthn roof) bringing the capacity up to 22K & an eastern stand at brookvale seating 10K .. cost 100 million upping the capacity to 22K

now can we please get 2 new 25K seat stadiums at penrith & liverpool for 600 Million & forget this ridiculous plan for a roof at homebush

job done.

There's not enough of a business case for Kogarah

Dragons are playing 5 games there this year and can't see it going up with them playing at WIN and the odd games at SCG/SFS

Sharks have gone back home and have no intention of going back unless works are happening like now or if they upgrade the stadium.

Only logic for Kogorah is they hope Sharks move there. Otherwise it makes zero sense to spend anything on it for 5 games a year. Liverpool, Manly, Penrith. These should be the three priorities in that order.
