Lang has to get his bench rotation right. Soo many times last year you had your best forwards off the pitch at the same time, such as Asotasi and Burgess. Today you had Taylor and Asotasi from memory.

Idris was carving Inglis a new one. With Ingils lack of game time this was ALWAYS going to happen. Im no coach, but what was wrong with putting Taylor opposite him in defence? A few of Taylor's bell ringer specials on the predator would have calmed him down, then put Inglis out there mid to late first half, with talanoa and wesser running off the inside.

PS move Sutton to lock ffs

Sutton has to be moved from 5/8... he is playing on the left hand side with an international centre next to him, and gives him a late pass to get smashed by the oppostion.. FFS give inglis some room and he might be able to make an impact in a game.. he has got the ball in an attacking position once in 160 mins of football.... NOT GOOD ENOUGH SUTTON.... hopefully we do not resign him

Rugby League is an 80 minute game and we simpy aren't playing for the full 80. Look at the storm and dragons, clinical. Us comical at times.

Agreed.

With regards to moving Sutton from 5/8, how do you replace him? Depth in the halves is diabolical.

Inglis is a ball runner, not a ball player. Would moving him to 5/8 be better or worse? He'd get his hands on the ball more often, but it doesn't give him a lot of room and he mightn't distribute well (any different to Sutton, though). Also, Inglis can only play one position - move him to 5/8 and you can't use him at fullback. I have to say, though, that the arguments against Inglis to fullback are gaining traction with me. I saw a bit of the League Lounge and Greg Alexander mentioned how much ground a fullback (like Slater) generally covers. Inglis just couldn't do it. It could force him to trim down though, but how many losses do you cop waiting for that?

If the Bunnies really want to ditch Wesser and move Sutton, the team would have to look something like ...

1. Merritt
2. McQueen
3. Farrell
4. Vai Vai (Lowe when he returns, playing a Beau Scott-style role)
5. Talanoa
6. Inglis
7. Sandow
8. Asotasi
9. Luke
10. Stuart
11. Pettybourne (Burgess when he returns)
12. Taylor
13. Sutton

14. Crocker
15. Tyrrell
16. Ross
17. McPherson

The other option, is to give Farrell a go at 5/8. That's a lot to put on a young fellow, though.

Random thoughts ...
* Ross is getting better.
* McPherson is going pretty well as a replacement prop, I'd use him specifically to replace Stuart, as I like replacing like for like.
* Taylor needs to play for fewer minutes. He could even be used from the bench, but just fewer minutes would help to increase the quality of his contributions. I think he's getting tired.
* After yesterday, I'd start with Crocker if I thought he was up to it. Unfortunately I'm not sure he is.
* Talanoa had a decent game yesterday. Still he is one of the most frustrating individuals in the team.

The Norths NSW Cup team with several Souths contracted players in it lost 28-0 to Canterbury. The Souths U20s team was down 28-0 at halftime. The top players are not great but the alternatives are worse. Souths need to make sure their roster has some depth. The only guy who Souths could replace with someone better is Wesser. But it won't happen as he and the coach go way back

The halves did not go great yesterday but with Reynolds and Mundine both out injured for a long time there really are no other options

Look at how the Bulldogs finished the game. Kept kicking the ball ingoal and trapping us there. The last couple of minutes they strangled us. If that was us we'd kick it dead and allow them to come back at us.

Excatly,Canterbury nailed nearly all of their kicks,we had nothing in that department.

Panthers in 03 lost their first 3 and won the comp. The bloke who coached them is our coach now.

Actually we lost our first 2. Then we beat the Roosters 23-22 in Round 3 and lost to Canberra in Round 4. So we were 1 from the first 4.

I'm sure no team has won a comp losing their first 3 games. Manly lost their first four in 2009. They lost their first 2 in 2008.

Souths can ill afford another slip up v Parramatta.

I'd be shattered if we do but I can't see us losing to them. We were minutes away from beating much much superior oppositon to the Eels. We've had problems playing after the 70 minute mark, against the Eels the game should be over by then.

One advantage (if you can call it that) of Sandow's inability to keep the ball from going dead, will be that it will stop Hayne from being able to run at the Souths defence from a kick return. You might be gifting them 20 metres, but if he gets the chance to run at Inglis in his current condition, bloody hell there could be a lot of the Hayne Plane crap going on... Kick it dead Sandow, for God's sake...

I thought you didnt go to the games? how can you be die-hard?

I go to the occasional game but i dont support Souths playing their home games at ANZ Stadium Silverfox.
As far as you questioning my support for the club then come back when you have some facts.

Maybe, switch luke and sandow....you need someone you can stear the ship and apply pressure.

Surly you have someone in the squad that can kick.

This fat council bludger doesn't attend games. He spins his anti Crowe sh*t on here because not many read it and is a laughing stock elsewhere after he earnt the nickname "groper".

Stats show if you lose your first two games, you have very little chance of making the finals, and bugger all chance of winning the big one.

I saw this inthe courier mail before the broncos played.

Just saying

Manly and Penrith would disagree with you.

I can't see how anyone who doesn't go to the games can call themselves a diehard fan. It sounds like something a rooster fan would say.

Souths need to shuffle their team around as they cant win games and this is what i would do if I had that team

1.Inglis
2.Merritt
3.Taylor(goes well against the smaller players than being up the middle plus has speed)
4,Farrell
5,Webster(heard this guy is pretty good)
6.Mundine
7Sandow
8.Asotasi
9.Luke
10.Stuart
11.Burgess(when back in the team)
12.Croker
13.Sutton

14.McPherson
15.Ross
16.Tyrrell
17.Pettybourne

well souths need to change Sutton back to lock and also MUST have Inglis at fullback as he really kicked butt when playing there before at the storm
