Country will sh*t it in imo

No Orford...he will be gutted :sarcasm:.

Good to see Quinn get a start...has been playing well for Storm.

Also good to see Minichello get a gig...underated and due reward. IMO he is a bolter for the NSW side.

Strange selections all over the place.

Rooney
Hughes

Haha. What have the selecters been smoking ? Would of thought theyd pick Orford in the 9 and alternate with Pearce.

Becasue lets face it if its an Origin trial than Hughes selection is a waste as the NSW hookers will be only out of the following (Beduerus, Farah and at a pinch Kidley)

Stewart
Cooper
Lyon

all ruled out
http://www.nrl.com/News/Latest/tabid/10244/default.aspx?id=50785

NSW Country have been dealt a triple blow with star backs Brett Stewart, Jamie Lyon and Matt Cooper all ruled out of Friday night's clash with City.
Fullback Stewart (calf), and the centre pairing of Lyon (personal reasons) and Cooper (back) were all scratched at Monday morning's medical.
Cronulla's Brett Kearney moves from the bench to fullback while Joel Monaghan shifts from the wing to the centres.
His centre partner will be North Queensland's Ben Harris.
The Sydney Roosters' Amos Roberts comes into the side on the wing while St George Illawarra utility Ben Hornby comes onto the bench.

from what i have seen of Luke Lewis hes been pretty good in hes matches so far

i think he tore us apart maybe thats what sheens is going off :sarcasm:
He has been great in the forwards. Although he hasn't played much footy this season... so he doesn't really deserve it. But i don't think he will let city down.

Luke Rooney.... well, that is just ridiculous. He is the worst player in the Panthers backline. Most supporters would rather Geoff Daniela get picked ahead of him... hopefully something happens Friday night and we don't use him Saturday.

5. LUKE ROONEY
9. COREY HUGHES
11. LUKE LEWIS
13. JOHN SUTTON
14. BRYCE GIBBS
17. PETER WALLACE

Lewis in the back row? Surely City have some backrowers capable of playing there instead of a centre/winger. Chad Robinson is eighteenth man and probably more deserving. Up against Fitzgibbon, Hindmarsh and Ryan it becomes reasonably one sided.

Sutton at lock. Arguable ahead of Mateo.

Bryce Gibbs? Helps when your club coach is the City coach I suppose.

Wallace - should be halfback.

Corey Hughes?

Rooney? Chris Lawrence extremely unlucky.

Seriously, while I'm sure there's better hookers out there, what is wrong with Corey Hughes? He's been close to our best player the last few weeks, and obviously the selectors saw enough in him to choose him... he'll do well IMO.

Because he has ZERO chance of playing ORIGIN, ever.

We've lost two straight series because of our half back & 5/8 woes. we need to trial as many halves and 5/8's as possible and since the natural choice for City hooker (Farah) is out injured, we should be looking to replace him with a 1/2 that could conceiveable play for NSW and also play at hooker if need be.

Orford is that man.

Agree...due reward for Hughes. Nothing special but does the job.

Never thought I'd see him in a rep jersey - personally though Isaac DeGois, Matt Hilder or Mick Ennis are unlucky. He has played well at the Dogs recently but no better than a few others.

He plays in the backrow for the Panthers... and is actually a very decent backrower. He is a great defender and he seems to do better in attack then he did in the centres.

If he wasn't playing backrow for Panthers, he would be playing lock or 5/8. Although i don't think he has played enough games this season to have earned a spot. If he had played the entire season... definitely give it to him.
