Bring on the next game.

Really, pretty ordinary game, handling errors from both sides and defence.

I think it was ok for the first game of the season. I think most games will have an increase in drop ball for a few weeks. Plus the defences will not be at 100% until everyones match fitness is at 100% also.

Boring game?? Wasn't too bad compared, you guys obviously have a hatred of the Roosters.

We were just too good. Topou was unstoppable!! Brilliant set plays put us through in the end. Wasn't the best performance though but we'll be able to build on this game.

How pathetic were those whinging little souths players, almost just as pathetic as Phil Guilds commentating. Seriously there should be a mute button for him, all he said was how bad the decision is to allow to check for a strip of the ball and how good souths fullback was.

Trust me, waiting a few seconds to see what actually happened will serve justice and you won't have angry fans frustrated over what could of been. I like this new rule, and it's only the start of the season.

Must hurt for you souths fans... I know Craig Wing's hurting right now!!

Looking back on this thread, it was so tempting to quote people whose predictions were completely wrong tonight. Just managed to resist the temptation.

Good win for the Roosters, Souths showed some good signs though.

Roosters looked the goods for the opening hour, but the 10 interchange rule looked to have a big effect on them, they just ran out of puff.

yeh, not sure bout that..
backs needed more ball for the roosters...
all you saw was toops and moson, nd such with the ball,
SKD and MINI were the only guys of the backs 5 that had regular ball...

Souths lost their half back and strike weapon in the early minutes which would of changed their game plan. They only had a 3 man interchange and Paea was forced to come on early. Roosters dominated in the first 50 mins, everything just seemed to go their way. But than Souths finished the game off strong.
Roosters were at full strength and Souths were missing David Faalago, Ben Rogers and might as well include Craig Wing.
I wouldn't panic you Souths fans, its not easy having a 3 man bench especially with a 10 man interchange.

Highlight of the game was when Riley brown got smashed by Asotasi and was seeing stars. He deserved it after the cheap shot in the back to Wing. It really wasn't needed Wing was wrapped up by two defenders.

Having said that, the Roosters had a disrupted preparation with Jaubbs only having one ball session and having to work on new combinations with Wing gone and Pearce being injured for the back half of last year.

If the Bunnies couldn't get us tonight, it won't be easier with a few runs under the belt.

LOL @ Rogers.. pfffttttt... you ever seen him play?

Excuses, excuses.

I've got a feeling we'll be hearing a lot of these over the coming days.

The fact is that Souths were soundly beaten by a better team tonight.

Congrats Roosters you were the better team on the night. You smashed us and we were well and truly beaten. mark my words Souiths will be better than that and will still make the 8.

Oh and Riley Brown...pretty dog shot but hey sh*t happens...I'd prefer isaac Luke over you anyday haha! Luke and Greenfield were our best players but we were just outclassed...it reminds me very much like Souths/Dogs last year when there was alot of media attention and then we got belted by the dogs forwards.

Well Done on the Win. It's a shame we never really had our starting halves playing, might of been a different story.

Tupou and Paea played better than Mason and O meley i must say

the souths forwards were poor.

where was asotasi and kidwell when the team was struggling.

browns shot was a cheap one, though legal.

souths dropped their heads once wing got injured. made way too many mistakes.

isaac luke is a very special player but paea and rogers were poor in the halves

the roosters were very good for the first 60 mins before they shut up shop

pearce and anasta were very good, and minichello was back to his best form.

and mason played arund 60 mins which was a good contribution from him

good start for the roosters

Kidwell is a waste of space and has no talent, always has been and without him, Souths would be a much better team.

I like Riley Brown, seemed to have a pretty good game.. excellent hit on that no good rotten traitor.

I wouldn't be crowing if I were a tricolour - both teams played hopelessly tonight - Souths from minutes 1-50, Roosters for the rest. A generally poor quality game but I don't think we should expect too much in humid, early season conditions.

Rooster fans would do well to remember their side lost the second half 16-10, and Rabbits fans would do well to remember their team simply didn't show up in the first 50.

Freddy summed it up perfectly after the game on the Brown tackle...

THATS FOOTBALL

I also though it was quite funny when he was asked if he cared that Wing got injured...

Of course...... I'm not gonna call him though

Classic

Be a whinging bitch in the papers for a month and be prepared to deal with the consequences Wing. I would never wish injury upon you, but f**k if anyone deserved to get smashed it was you after that "they didnt say hello to me!" cry baby talk.

yeah but there's no call for what Brown did, he came in late into the tackle Wing was already held.
