So for the experts who wrote Brisbane off this year, you were wrong. It's only round 1 yes, but they are clearly contenders this year.

Dont get too excited. Our team just beat the spooners of 2007...not the storm.
Friday night will be a nice test vs a physical pack like the chooks and a 5 day turnaround

I'd be pissed at panthers management for letting Wallace go... and then they go and sign Joe Williams, what a laugh

Why would we sign a guy who outplayed both Thurston and Orford last year when we can have the half back from a team that couldn't score points.

One can't describe the love/hate I have for my team.

true, but still we showed we've got the forward power and a backline capable of scoring points. Roosters will be a good test but their pack isn't any bigger then the Panthers.

Agreed.

I'm wondering if Elliot's "Play like sh*t, get demoted to the junior grades" policy will apply to the new guys as well? (wishful thinking on my part I think!)

Premierships are won in September.

As the season progresses, I think it will be become painfully clear how big a mistake it was to let Wallace go.

Joe Williams played his way out of a first grade position today with his weak and inept performance, but I have this nagging feeling that he'll get another run next week.

Give McCrone a go at #7, or even put Sammut there. Surely we couldn't do worse than we did today.

Thats why reading into stats will do your head in

Was just surprised at the errors, completion rates and hit-ups.

What went wrong for the Panthers then? I don't have foxtel where I am atm.

Hard life been a broncos fan, missing the top 4 is a dissapointing year... looks likes they'll be there abouts again.

Next week will be a cracker.

Basically they had nothing in the halves.
Couldnt read the broncos standard 2nd man play move.
Broncos punishing them for their mistakes in their own half.
Broncos made alot of mistakes too (ball handling) but the Panthers couldnt score to save themselves.

Good victory from the Broncos, tough luck Panthers but at least you can only improve from here.

They simply through the moves. No passion, no creativity, no ideas to do something different.

Honestly, Broncos weren't that good. But Panthers were just a rabble that didn't give us anything to think about.
