The venue of this game will be decided sometime during next Monday... If NSW win against SA in Pura Cup cricket this weekend this game is likely to head next door to the SFS.

Opening round clash up in the air
March 04, 2008

THE NRL's marquee opening round clash remains in danger of being forced to find a new home.

SCG Trust officials confirmed the Wests Tigers versus St George-Illawarra clash on Sunday, March 16 would be moved to the Sydney Football Stadium in the event of a clash with the Pura Cup cricket final.

Newv South Wales remain favourites to host the final with the Blues currently ahead of Victoria on run quotients heading into the final round of the regular season.

Both teams are tied on 33 competition points.

The Blues play the hopelessly out-of-form South Australia in their final round game starting at the SCG on Friday while Victoria take on Queensland.

I believe the result could hinge on the venue, Saints don't have a great record at the SCG in one-off matches from memory.

Well they it'll likely be moved to the SFS at this stage if NSW stay on top of the Pura Cup table.

The opposite is true. We've played at the SCG six times since 1993 for 5 wins and 1 loss. The most recent being a 36-16 victory over the Roosters in September 2006.

Should be a decent game, Dragons generally start the season slow, but Gasnier always cuts as apart, I reckon we'll get up about 26-24, with Gasnier bagging 3 of em.
