Minichiello had a great game, and I really like what I see from Cherrington, his offloads are great.

If Hampstead refs the game correctly the Roosters win by 40. He kept them in it by letting them hold down in the play the ball and stand offside all night.

a brave effort from the boys tonight .The roosters should have won by 50.considering the injury toll penrith had.
Luke Priddis possibly gone for the season
Jennings will miss several weeks
Bateman chest injury long term injury
T pulutua rib damage played on with the injury

The panthers gave there all .You always want to win but when the effort is there like tonight i can not fault the boys

That clown elliott now will have to give Masada a run.Sammut into the halves next week

I hope Freddy sticks to just having James Aubusson in the team, Pearce plays better with him on, and it saves an interchange.

We lack the killer instinct to win by 50 Murray besides, your boys never gave up and kept us honest.

BTW did any one experience a 7 second delay like I did in the telecast?
A mate of mine lives in Gymea (I'm in Enmore) and he rang me during the game. He was watching nein but listening to Warren Ryan on the radio and was cheering at stuff before it evolved (to me) on the tele. So I asked if the radio was slightly ahead to which he replied no. When I told him him it said 18min 40 sec on the clock he said it was 18min 47sec.
Go figure!
Anyway the Roosters still have a lot of work ahead of them.
cheers

Great effort by Penrith tonight. Those injuries made it really hard for us.

That Mark O'Meley try was disgraceful... but the Roosters were easily the better team otherwise. Just glad it didn't cost us the game. Not sure how Luke Rooney wasn't awarded his first try when his hand never left the ball.... although i can see it being a 50/50 decision, if that was the Roosters, it would have been a try.

Best player for mine was Shane Rodney... converting from the sideline after 2 years out of action. The guy is just insane... a try and a conversion in his first 2 games back

That O'Meley try was a fugging joke tbh

So was Luke Rooney scoring when the teams should have been in the sheds eating oranges.. The first 30 minutes Penrith were continually offside and holding the tackled players down.. One instance Perrett was dragged down by Civonceva as he was about to play the ball, yet Bean kept blowing Penalties to the Panthers..

The worst call of the night those was late in the game when he gave an offside penalty after an attempted intercept, can't remember by who.. The ball deflected off the Roosters player and travelled about a metre backwards towards the Roosters goal line before being caught by another Roosters player who was standing in front of the other Roosters player.. You cannot be offside if you are catching a ball that has travelled backwards towards your goalposts and was caught behind where the first contact was made, regardless if you are standing at all times in front of the player who touches the ball originally.

You are kidding about a dozen blatantly shocking decisions went the Panthers way.. How about scoring a try when the play the ball happened 3 seconds after the half time siren. Rooney did not apply downward pressure on the ball, it slipped out the side of his hand.. Also how a benefit of the doubt call did not go towards the Roosters when Topou scored.. There was no possible way Harrigan could tell that Soliola touched the ball. There was no deviation whatsoever in the balls movement.

There was definant separation in the O'Meley try of the ball from his hand but he may (not certainly) have applied downward pressure. The belief that a player needs control of the ball does not exist in the rule book. The rule states that the scorer must apply downward pressure on the ball, hence why you can score by diving on the ball with your torso.

Have to disagree with all those points. I only had the TV on in the background, but it definitely seemed the Panthers got the rough end of the stick from the ref. Even if O'Meley's try was a try (which I seriously doubt), they shouldn't have got the penalty that led to it in the first place. Seems like Fitzgibbon likes to flop in attack as well as defence :p

Sorry mate I was at the game, it was a carve up.. Hampstead had the house on Penrith and still couldn't get them over the line.
