Grats raider fans. Yer team was far too good today.

Next week is going to be painful for us.. We will be lucky to score a try.

Fantastic effort.

I didn't like the way we dropped off in the second half, but still a great effort.

How good was that, Raiders fans must have loved every minute.

Not good for us (Knights) as they are above us know. But they are looking like a finals team so id like to see em make it if we don't.

Raiders should make the top 8 from here; great effort from them.

Roosters looking rather vulnerable and will have to lift for Manly next week.

Congrats Raiders.

That's the bets any side has played against us all year.

You played some awesome footy. And when you're on your easily the best side to watch in the competition.

Play like that every week and there's no reason why a deep run into the finals isn't possible.

Congratulations Canberra Raiders, my hat goes off to you.
This is Freddy's first real test as a coach, we came back strong after two poor losses early in the year but this will be different, and honestly, what better team to come back to then the benchmark, Manly..that is IF we come back.
Not taking a single thing away from Canberra, they did a good job keeping Carney, and it's damn well paying for them.

agreed - I love watching teams play with all that energy and really move the ball around.

also agree with you N-T that next week will be a real test for freddy and the boys.

Mason was trying to prove he wasn't over-rated by running at Todd Carney all game in an attempt to run over the top of him.

He failed everytime.

Mason had an outstanding game.

He would be stupid not to run at Todd Carney all game. That's where he would get more metres, is more likely to break the line and also tire out Canberra's best player.

im sick of unknowledgeable 'footy' fans abusing forwards for running at halfbacks. Why the bloody hell wouldn't they!

It's just common sense really. Hindmarsh for one used to be a great player when he ran wide and wreaked havoc.

It would have been great if he actually went over the top of Carney and Monaghan. I thought they kept him pretty quiet really. He went through a lot of work, but his impact was minimal.

He deadset carved us up when we played the Roosters last and part of that was him just strolling over the top of Carney (and all our players) at will. If anything shows that the Raiders have made progress it is the defence on that side of the field

EDIT

according to NRL.com (which is known the be occasionally wrong with stats) Mason made an impressive 160metres from an impressive 21 runs. That is still only 7 metres per run, which is about what Tilse did. O'meley was making 8 Metres per hit up and Logan was making about 11. As I said Mason got through a lot of work, but he didn't have a huge impact like everyone was suggesting he would in response to the overrated tag.

He was pretty well contained by the raiders defence.

Keeping in mind he did about 4 or 5 of those runs close to the line which got him a metre each time.

That was bloody shocking really, I dont know what we can do to improve enough to be a real threat this year. We peaked too early I think, it would take a near miracle for Freddy to be able to get us back to the top with a decent attitude really.

Good
