Wake up indeed.

Firstly well done to the Knights. They stuck around for the full 80 and got a win while we played for 40ish and got beaten by a Knights team that wanted it more than us.
Our 2nd half was disgraceful. An outsider could almost believe that the Roosters used a team for each half.
Ah well put that behind us and look for a win on Friday afternoon.

i call it how i see it, and the way i saw it, with the chances they had, a good quality side would have put 7-8 tries on the roosters in that final 40... the roosters keep handing them the game and the knights refused to take it till late in the peice.

TBH im yet to see the knights play 80 minutes of good footy this season. TBH im yet to see it from many clubs, including my own. That being said, of the opening 6 games ive only watched around half the knights games. I missed their two GP games

A Newcastle hater if ever i've seen one, you cannot say one side in the competition could have put 7-8 tries or 40 points on the Roosters in one half, regardless of how they played. The fact is we have been COMPETITIVE for 80 minutes in every game and won today AWAY from home which is good.

the amount of oppertunties the knights had i recon the titans, storm, bronco's or even a parramatta/manly at their peak would have piled points on them
the knights scored 4 in the second half and IMO bombed one certain try via taia
thats 5 already not even taking into account the pedestrian attack and poor 5th tackle options, they wasted about 6-7 sets of 6 on the roosters line and the roosters looked out on their feet defensively, aside from that there was the 4 on 2 they squandered when Hilder kicked for Vuna... Houston kicking infield when the hands would have probably produced a try... Paterson kicking again when taking the tackle and a quick play the ball almost certainly produces a try...

face facts, the knights BOMBED a ridiculous amount of chances
and should have had 7-8 tries to their name in that 2nd 40mins... the roosters were terrible and couldnt keep up with the knights little men from hooker. B.Smith's tactics in the 2nd half were absolutely spot on and had the execution from the knights been of the same quality as Smiths tactics, they win that game by 25+

all i have to say is - lol, what a win. grats to the roosters fans - very gracious in defeat (both at the ground and here in the forum).

our execution is still poor, but very understandable under the circumstances. lol @ r69's naysaying.. mate i'd like you to pick another team in the comp that would beat the roosters with their 3rd string halves option. absolutely laughable. we scored 34 points against the roosters with poor execution and not a single player on the team that could get away a quality kick. if we start getting our execution right this year - watch out. our no-frills forward pack has been sensational this year. we're playing with a real genuine self belief that i haven't seen since a fit and firing andrew johns was steering the team around.

Your right, we did squander some good opportunities to score but ALL TEAMS do that at one point or another during their season, even the SEMI DECENT sides. This means that we are still winning while not at our best and playing for the full 80 minutes, a sign of a good side mate.
