And the calls against the Panthers were ok by the rules. Interpretation or not, if the ref calls held you can't play on and score.

No by the Fox commentators and Fox Sports News.

Didnt say there wernt...

When did they clear it up? i havent changed channels

Sorry mate, misunderstood your post.

Brandy and the other commentator (Braybrook??) were on Fox Sports News after the game. Brandy said they were fine.

Just out of interest anyone know the why Ennis penalised for diving on the ball. I always thought once the ball had cleared the ruck it was fair game if there was no hooker there.

Even your own supporters said the ref was dodgy....

How about Sammut being called offside from a bomb that he kicked and the try disallowed?

How about the dumb held calls?

Yes, for both teams

About Sammut being called offside, I didnt think that was the call. I thought it was because as both players went to contest the football, a Panthers player touched it, when the try scorer touched it he was offside because of that

Although the ref was dodgy the Panthers should have wrapped the game up with the amount of ball they had in the Dogs 20. Very poor last play options.

By no means did we play well, I thought both teams were crap. But the amount of ball Penrith had in our own 20, they shouldve scored 3 more tries

How the f*ck wasn't the Jarrod Sammut try awarded? The referees didnt even go upstairs, and that incorrect decision cost us the game.

Sammut wasn't tackled. The ball and his arms didn't go near the ground until he barged his was over the try line to score under the posts. Rather then give us our try, we were penalised.

Not to mention the Doggies second try coming directly off a knock-on with absolutely no video referee decision at all. If those referees weren't paid off before the match, they certainly got some sexual favours. Had 3 tries disallowed for the Panthers... one of which was definitely a fair try, while they scored a try which was definitely not a try.

What knock on off the second try?

You're dreaming

Ref called held, I dont think he shouldve been called held, but play to the whistle

True, I was at the game and some of the calls against Penrith were disgraceful, that Sammut double movement call is in my top 5 worst calls of all time, if I was a Penrith fan I'd be absolutely livid.

Plenty of dud calls both ways IMO, some soft penalties in both directions and the two refs involved may not be holding a whistle next weekend IMO.

Game over though and we won it. No issues with the 14 issues, a storm in a teacup from Brandy because he can't his team losing.

Bulldogs = 1st.

i have to admit penrith was the better team, and we were very luck to come away with the 2 points...will cop a hiding if we turn up in QLD to play like that against the titans.

They did much better at keeping the pressure on through the 50-75 minute mark, dominated field position, but really with the glut of possession and position they had, they should've been much further in front. Our defence won us the game - one of only two real shots at the Penrith line late in the game and Ben Roberts... yes Ben Roberts was able to slice through a weak line.

If Penrith were fair dinkum they should've been 40-22 up by that stage, but we held out. For that reason, I think we earnt the points.

F*cking bullsh*t. Everytime we crossed the line the refree/video refere just disallowed it anyway.

Panthers had a fair try disallowed under the posts that would have put us 10 points in front with 5 minutes to go. That right there cost us the game. Dogs don't deserve the two points just because we couldn't put them away. Pretty hard to do when you can't get a call to go in your favour.

i am trying to put my tv on slow motion to see if we in fact had 14 on the field or 13, ryan is going off in back-play, and apparently Greg Alexander admitted later that he was wrong.

One of the Doggies clearly knocked the ball on or made a forward pass. Hard to tell whether he was trying to bat the ball on or control it. Either way it left his hands forward and shouldn't have been a try.

Ref called held, I dont think he shouldve been called held, but play to the whistle
Just a bullsh*t decision. Our player is running forward with momentum. What reason is there to call held? Why not just call held the second the opposition has a hand on a player? That's essentially what happened there. Although i didn't even hear them call held. I just heard us get penalised for a fair dinkum try.

That was the match winner right there. I knew once we got penalised for that it would change the game.

Apparently the 14th man issue was not during the play that led to the match-winning try, but after - Greg Eastwood jumped off the bench and ran onto the field to celebrate with the team.

I can't see the Bulldogs losing points for it but there'll definately be a fine.

Can you upload a gif? I missed that incident while watching the game. Have no idea what was meant to have occured. Although at the club i watched at we had next to no sound at all.

Surely if there was a problem the Dogs would have the 2 points disqualified, or have a fine slapped on them. Unlike incorrect decisions, the NRL would step in over that sort of thing.

my tv isn't big enough so i can't see everyone on the field lol, need to get a bigger tv.
As skeepe mentioned Eastwood went on the field to celebrate the match winning try, not sure about losing points but possibly be fined.

happened to brisbane when they scored. they lost the points but won it on appeal.

the points will only be taken away if both players had a hand in the try...not sure which player was referred to as the 14th, eastwood or ryan, because i could see ryan coming off the field at one stage and down in backplay.
