Think I will toss a coin for this one. Manly have a decent record up there and we seem to be improving each week, hope it continues this week.

Manly are on a roll and will be hard to stop... think Eagles will win by 10

no.. changed my mind, Thurston to fire up again and bring home the Cows by 13

If Thurston turns it on like yesterday, Manly won't have a hope. They might won two matches but the teams they played weren't in the best form and to be perfectly honest they still look quite scratchy out Manly way. Cowboys, just.

Lucky for us Thurston only seems to turn it on as often as a woman has her period...

On the flip side, if Lyon and Stewart turn it on as they have been, good luck to the Cowboys

Bani army on move in boats, planes and cars

April 21, 2009
http://www.leaguehq.com.au/news/lhq...planes-and-cars/2009/04/20/1240079605036.html

THE Bani army is on the move, and just like its barmy equivalent, there ain't enough tickets to go around. But Michael Bani is under pressure to deliver them before his first match in Townsville - many of his followers are already on their way to the ground.
Bani, the Manly winger, approached the club's football manager, Steve Gigg, yesterday and asked for "as many tickets as you can give me". Gigg can get his hands on 70 tickets for away fixtures, but he won't be handing them to one player.
"The best I can do for him is probably 10," Gigg said yesterday.
So some members of the travelling Bani army might feel disappointed, again giving them something in common with their barmy equivalent.
Bani hails from Mabuiag, a tiny Torres Strait island, and a number of his relatives have already begun the two-day journey to watch the 24-year-old play his first NRL match on Far North Queensland soil on Saturday night.
"Mum and a few others are flying to Thursday Island - it's one of those five-seater planes - and then they catch a boat across to Horn Island, fly to Cairns and then drive from Cairns to Townsville," he said yesterday. "It's easy for them. It's easier than coming down here [to Sydney]. It's going to be my first game up in Queensland, and in front of all my family … I'm a bit nervous at the moment. But once I get up there and see all my family, it's going to be good. Hopefully, I can score a few tries. I haven't been scoring any lately."
The Sea Eagles have not beaten the Cowboys at Dairy Farmers Stadium since 2004, but after two consecutive wins, Bani could feel the confidence coming back to the premiers.
"We knew it was going to come," he said.
If only he could be as certain about game tickets.

Brother wants to tame Wolfman

DEMOTED Cowboys flyer John Williams yesterday broke his silence on the disciplinary lapse that threatens to cost him the chance to lock horns with little brother David "The Wolfman" Williams on Saturday night. Williams and Carl Webb were stood down for their club's morale-boosting 34-10 win over Cronulla at Adelaide's Hindmarsh Stadium for failing to report on time for a team recovery session nine days ago.
The pair were hoping for a speedy recall to play title-holders Manly in Townsville this weekend, but the stakes are even more personal for Williams.
He is desperate to oppose the Sea Eagles given the premiers are set to welcome back his little brother, Australian World Cup star David, from shoulder injury.
The siblings have met twice before, once in reserve grade and also in Manly's round 10 romp last year, with David's team saluting both times.
"It hurts, especially given I'm not in the team for making a silly little mistake," Williams said.
"I'd love to play him (David). It would be good to get one up on him (but) I won't be surprised if they re-select both wingers, I'll just keep plugging away."
Cowboys coach Neil Henry is likely to name an extended squad for Saturday night's game and the pair are likely inclusions after Henry said their axing was not related to form.
Williams responded to his NRL dumping by scoring a double for Northern Pride in the state league. However, he admitted he faced a battle to reclaim his wing spot in time for Manly's arrival at Dairy Farmers Stadium given replacement Ben Farrar impressed against the Sharks in Adelaide while veteran flyer Shannon Hegarty continued to prove an imposing presence on the left flank.
A reprieve for the busy flyer could yet come after centre Ash Graham suffered a suspected medial ligament tear last weekend.
Utility Clint Amos will also have scans on his knee.

f**k, Stewart gorn for 12... :|

Media Release
Manly Sea Eagles

Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Manly fullback Brett Stewart will undergo knee procedure on Friday and will be out of action for 8 to 12 weeks.
Stewart injured his knee in the second half of last Saturday's NRL match against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium - his second game in the premiership this season.
Early indications after the game were that the injury wasn't serious but subsequent tests indicated it was similar to his knee injury in 2007 which required surgery.
Manly coach Des Hasler said the injury "was shocking luck for Brett but he is a strong character and will work hard on his rehabilitation and minimise his time on the sideline,"
Hasler will decide on Stewart's fullback replacement for Saturday's clash with the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville later today.
Winger Michael Robertson had the job in the opening month of the premiership and is likely to fill in again in Stewart's absence.
