Great game, both sides looking good, especially the Bulldogs. Have to hand it to them, already more wins than last season.

Tigers will be there or thereabouts with some thrilling play.

Good stuff Dogs, they'll go far this year.

Both sides were evenly matched in most aspects apart from kicking.

It was a case of David v Gallantus and poor old Shannon didn't get up this time.

El Masri (greatest goalkicker of all time) v Gallant (well, I used to think that Greg Bourke was the worst striker of a ball that I'd EVER seen but Shannon Gallant might eclipse him).

Kimmorley & Ennis (Has there been a half/hooker combo with a better general kicking game than these two? It was awesome to watch.) v Morris (ungainly - he tries but he has NO idea how to kick a ball) & Farah.

Tigers need a kicking mentor. No matter how much flair you might show in attack, if you can't kick, you'll come in the bottom few clubs.

Anyway, good luck Dogs.

Great game. I'm growing a serious man crush on Ennis, what a player he's becoming. That pass from no look pass from Stagg to Patten that led to Goodwin's try was great. Hazem's kick - awesome.

I'm willing to say that we were the better team in a losing effort.

Credit to the dogs where it's due, they played well.

Still, it sh*ts me that the dogs won purely on goal kicking and not actual play since it was 4 tries a piece.

Positives taken out and such and on Ennis v Farah, I'll say that Farah won the battle but Ennis won the war.

Pretty surprised Ennis got man of the match. Not to say he wasn't outstanding, but Farah was in absolutely everything. Set up three (would have been four if Hanbury had looked to his inside) tries, topped the tackle count for the match, earned countless repeat sets and was just in everything in general.

Anyway fantastic match, pretty gutting one to lose.

Add Marshall in and I reckon we would have got the dogs.

hanbury possibility for worst bench player ever?

and gallant's goalkicking was agonising.. also we had to concede several line drop outs because he isnt powerful enough to force his way out of the in goal

referee's didnt help with a couple times ruling drop bull when there was clearly interference in the play the ball.

in general we did well to even be in the contest. very annoying but what can i say. some times those games go ur way and others they dont..

positive: farah much better then ennis. how he got man of the match we dont know

Ennis and Farah split the difference as far as I'm concerned. They win, he gets the prize, we win, Farah gets the prize. Unless Robbie shows a lot behind a rep side next Friday I think Ennis scored himself a sky blue jersey. Which sucks for Robbie.

That was a great game and for the first time in ages I'm still proud of our boys in a losing effort. The Dogs being the form team of the competition and sending them right down to the wire is something to take into the bye week happy about. Hopefully the flu is gone, the niggling injuries are sorted and we get some good solid training in through the next fortnight. Well done Dogs.

The Goodwin no try was a bad call so i guess it could of been 5 tries..

Tigers copped one like that a few weeks ago. Where ever there is contact and a players is obstructed, no matter how unlikely he is to effect the tackle, it is deemed a penalty. I thought it was a tough call but consistent with earlier rulings.

Overall there was very little between both sides, although the Bulldogs were pretty dominant in the first half - fair enough result.

it was definitly a NO TRY.

not because he would have stopped goodwyn

BUT

if ellis wasn't impeded he would have stopped roberts getting the offload away which led to the true.

pretty simple i thought

Poor read by Ellis and he managed to get to Goodwin anyway, no obstruction, easy try. Ridiculous.

Anyway, a win and we're top. Unbelievable turnaround. What a game, what a season so far.

no way so if it happens to the tigers its a no try but if it happens to the dogs its a try ????????

:? Where did I say anything about the Tigers? It should have been a try if the person was a blue, orange, red, violet, purple polka-dotted jersey. A ridiculous mutation of the obstruction rule.
Farah really out played Ennis.
 So the opposition hooker outplayed the man of the match?

In reality you couldn't split the pair. They were both sensational, especially with Farah having to take on a halfback role in Benji's absence.

I thought farah was better, didnt have the luxury of a halfback to take the pressure of as Ennis did. Think ennis will get the nsw spot tho which is a shame cos he's a total dickhead.

Great game of footy tho! Tigers should've scored that last try when hanbury didnt pass. Dont like when the difference is just goal kicking but thems the breaks.
