Commentators were saying Cartwright was the most nervous he's ever been before the game.

I think the Titans are about 2 gun backline players away from being a very, very good side. A new centre and one winger, have Zillman on the bench and maybe an Aubusson/B Harrison type of backrower.

Zillman is a good fullback. Presto needs to retire and free up some money for another winger.

The Titans erred badly passing up two gift penalty goals either side of half time. It had been a very tight game, at 12-10 and with the ball, well it might have been different. Seems this Roosters outfit is a very very good side, but something seemed wrong, this did not seem like a preliminary final. The Titans were not able to grind it out with the Roosters, to my surprise. I think tomorrow's winner will lift the trophy.

As much as i like Preston i think having him back this week at fullback disrupted the Titans especially Zillman...

So proud of the boys...

we won that game purely on a very structured line of defence that didn't budge for a lot of the match

There's a stat somewhere that despite the negative perceptions of our defence, we've actually conceded the least amount of points since round 21

Whil we're on the selective stats, which team has conceded the least points in the finals? :p

I went to the game tonight, and came away disappointed. Partly because I was hoping the Tits would win, but mostly because of the complete lack of support from the multitude of Tits fans at the game. Seriuously, I went to games at Seagulls Stadium which had more atmosphere than tonight's game.

Credit to the Roosters, they played very, very well. Their defence was, dare I say it, Dragons-like. They also ran much harder and their use of the ball was far more slick. Credit also to their fans, who while small in number, made far more nosie than the Tits fans all night.

Roosters, great performance

Should be a Roosters v Tigers GF, Tigpies will be the only ones able to give them a real challenge like in the 2nd finals game

It was pretty quiet on TV too, I think they were pretty shocked that they were losing. The Titans never looked like making a comeback so there was no incentive for the crowd to fire up.

Disappointing from the boys. Gutted. Roosters too good on the night. Good side, although they are poor sports and contest every ref decision. Anasta is playing well, but I hate him as a person now after watching how arrogant he's become.

Hope the Tigers win the comp now, if its Roosters v Dragons Grand Final, it will be hard to cheer for anyone. Its like who would you cheer for Osama Bin Laden or Hitler?

Sharks weren't playing Pal. Your "boys" are probably drowning their sorrows on a beach in Thailand still.

Anyone else find this game pretty uninteresting?

I am a die hard Roosters fan, and while I am absolutely elated that we won, the game was pretty bloody boring to be honest.

I think, despite only trailing by a small margin for quite a while, the Titans just never seemed in it and it took the tenseness out of the spectacle.

As for the diving thing. Every single person who has criticised Prince, Friend, Anasta or Carney is essentially criticising players in their very own team who have all done the exact same thing at one stage or another.

Time to get off the soap box, open your eyes and understand how important a single penalty can be for a team, whether it be ill gotten or not.

It may be cattish (yes I just made up that word) but it's smart.

I agree completely...penalties can be too pivotal to worry about being called a diver or a cat.

I only watch the first half , the roosters did well but imo the titans looked slow and they were always off the pace,
Titans defence wasnt on song :)

Dont think carney has anything to worry about .

None of those things matter, its the club, the people and the history. The Roosters have always plundered the talent of others rather than develop their own juniors and now they win a few games and they carry on like mad in the ruck with cheap shots and bitch every decision.

Shame on you.

Mate...which club has'nt done exactly what you are saying above.

Get over it...Roosters are in the GF and fully deserve to be there.

What do all of these players have in common?

Every single one of them made their first grade debut at the Roosters, and have ONLY played for the Roosters. We have to take juniors from other places because our junior base is the smallest of any clubs, not for any fault of our own. We have signed these young kids, many of which were unwanted by their previous clubs, developed them, and formed an outstanding team out of them.

Add to that, the fact that Kouparitsas, Conn and Graham were unwanted by their previous clubs, Aubusson (James) had only played one year of first grade for Storm, and Hargreaves had only played one year of first grade for Manly.

Who does that leave as players that have been 'plundered' in this current team?

Ryles? Dragons fans loathed this guy and he was sent packing to Catalans in disgrace, we gave him a second chance.

Anasta? Been with us for 6 years now, 100 games for the club.

Myles? Last year no other team would have wanted him!

Carney? Playing park footy in QLD because Canberra punted him for off-field indiscretions, we gave him a second chance.

Cop that pantherz9103. Have an actual look before you start spewing crap about the culture. If anything, we might have more players in our squad than any other club who actually made their first grade debut for, and have played only for, our club in the NRL. Could be wrong, but we are right up there. Mason is gone. Roosters are in the grand final, Panthers are licking their wounds. Man up.

As boring as the Titans were, well done to the Roosters who were vigilant in defence and smart in attack. They deserve their place and I know for sure that they're going to give us a real show next Sunday.

To all the Roosters fans, congrats!

I couldn't have said it better myself. Spot on Big Pete.

I really believed the Titans played their normal garden variety, with perhaps a slight lift in intencity.

The Roosters on the other hand, came out with all guns blazing, played above their weight, with an intencity I really haven't seen before.

If they do the same next week, and there is no reason to suggest they won't, they will provide all RL fans with brilliant entertainment.

What he said was- "02, won the comp, 03 and 04." referring to Rooster grand final appearances, but it did sound like he was saying they won in 03 and 04.

If you were around these forums back in 04, and i was under a different alias. There were a number of Roosters fans who truly beleived they were still the defending premiers after the 03 GF loss and the panthers were not worthy winners. No other club has arrogant supporters like this...

I thought the Titans were really poor last night, pretty dull game actually, congrats to the Roosters though, 2 weeks running now they have won well and not gotten out of second gear
