Happy with the result. Not too happy with the way it was achieved. We deserve to cop criticism for that. Mind you, the big difference between that game and other games where we've ground teams into the dust was how much ball we dropped. That is what really concerned me. Our defence was top-notch as always, but we'd better have a bit more in attack than what we saw today against either the limes or the tangerines. And I think we will. I think the instructions from Bennett were simply to make sure we got through to week 3. I don't think the dropped ball was part of the plan though.

Anyway, time to forget about that game and concentrate on two weeks' time. Here's hoping the Raiders-Tigers game goes for 2 hours or more. :p

lol @ every idiot in here saying we're nothing.

We did what we had to do to win. Stuck to a gameplan and won by the biggest margin of the week and at the same time keeping the opposition to zero.

Its a results game you fools and we got the result.

Every opposition supporter is jealous because thier team , struggle to score points with attack where the dragons dont need much attack to score points and still outscore the so called attacking teams.

And most of the teams remaining are one man attacks

canberra - campese
roosters - carney
Tigers - Marshall

Thats why there is alot of hate , the dragons have alot of attacking options

Manly had some very brave players out there today. They were a busted team and were there to be well beaten, and so they were. Tough for the Manly fans to see their season come to an end, because before all the injuries they seemed (to me) to be a team that could have emerged to be a true challenger to the Dragons' premiership hopes. After a week of the finals, this mantle is now shared between the Titans, Raiders and Roosters.

Lol I'm loving the little bitch sessions between you all. At the end of the day dragons only needed 1point to win. They scored 28.

Good clinical win by Saints.
Nothing exciting for the most part, but when you are at a poker table playing with 7 others, and 2 drop out, you don't reveal whats in your deck to the remaining 5 do you?, particularly when everyone else is still adding chips to the middle of the table.

I think they have some improvement left in them, they were probably capable of going absolutely ape sh*t today, crazy arse kicks, sweeping backline movements etc and racking up a few more tries.
The flipside of that is Manly probably would have scored a couple.
They did what they needed to do against an understrength opposition and expended as little energy as possible to do it and got some tackling practice in.

Its not a result that would have people making comments like "premiers in waiting" because the opposition wasn't exactly top notch.

They just need to avoid what happened to Penrith, play a few teams who are struggling and get a false sense of security then come up against a team that is well versed and not be ready for it from the onset.

I think Bennett and the team know that 15 errors is way too many for a team that 90% of the time records errors in single figures and that 27 of 39 completions is also not good enough, in that regard its probably the "errors they had to have".

In any case they have given themselves the best chance they can at this point by skipping a game and getting a weeks rest, and then maybe a few more cards in the hand get revealed.

Manly cld've been leading at halftime with all their attack in the opp 20, but their attack was crap. 2nd half they only went for one 40-20 with the wind and instead tried crappy lil chip kicks. They need a total rehaul next year.
Dragons were in 3rd gear all game till the last 10mins when they had wrapped it up.

To be fair to the neutral fans, they want to be entertained. The scoreboard never gets interesting when 1 side is stuck on zero. I loved watching the other finals because there was ebb and flow. Today, the dragons staved off all Manly had in the first half and to be fair Manly never looked like scoring. Saints' sensational defence prevents the game being entertaining for the neutrals.
The great "attacking" sides don't do so great against us.
As for the Raiders hoodoo....it doesn't look so bad for Saints when you look at the record of games played in Sydney. The temperature won't be in single figures in 2 weeks:)

Dragons have the best defence by far. Should see them win it all.

If they fall behind and need to rack up points quickly then I'm not so sure they could come back as well as some other sides.

Titans are a big threat IMO, they score quite a few (for lack of a better word) lucky points, which you will need to beat that Dragons defence.

Manly weren't terrible, the fact that Saints kept them to 0 was remarkable.
