I agree
Norman was very good but he and the other kiddies really felt the pressure when the game was on the line, he made a great tackle on Bani to save a try though but not MOTM or in the top 3 imo. Lockyer as usual sets up the play that wins the game, he created the overlap and the space for Kemp to fly down the wing. Thurston proved how good he was but also proved that he can at times overplay his hand and sometimes his kicking game is a bit rough.
Willie Tonga and Luke O'Donnell deserve a mention though absolutely outstanding, O'Donnell was the best forward on the park and Tonga seems like he is getting back to his best.
Matt Gillett and Scott Anderson were very strong also.
My post was made after the first half, the second half I hadn't seen as yet ;-)
A tale of two halves of football. Brisbane looked world beaters in the first half, the Cowboys likewise in the second (though helped by the inexperience of the young Broncos who dropped their bundle a little). Johnathan Thurston was out of this world in that second half, as dominant a display from a player in one half of club football than you can ask for. He scored a try, was involved in just about all or the Cowboys and he led from the front. Inspirational effort despite being in the losing side.
Welcome back to Willie Tonga, he looked dynamic. Queensland will need not fret about replacing Justin Hodges. Tonga and Inglis will be a dynamic partnership. Luke O'Donnell was strong, 140 odd metres, 30 tackles. Welcome back to Luke O'Donnell as well.
Brisbane take plenty of positives from the game, equally, they take some concerns. Nearly dropping a game after leading 24-0 is a worry. Corey Norman looks like a future star, Lockyer was excellent and the forwards didn't shirk their duties (Parker in particular impressive, 10 points, 49 tackles and 119m) Outwide the Broncos still look dangerous.
3 - Johnathan Thurston (NQ)
