The Dragons were paying $1.65

They should've won at home. As far as I can tell they had 13 on the field at all times, and after taking the lead right after half time they should definitely have carried on with it.

And why is that??? The Dragons had a very inexperienced side that has not played together before (3-4 debutantes). They were always gonna get run down in this game. Credit to the Raiders for winning but the should have won by a lot more. I have no problem accepting the loss, I just can't stand idiots bragging about the win like it was an awesome victory! Any team only losing by only 10 points with 6 origin players, 2 internationals and another 2 very decent regular 1st graders out is a great effort. The Raiders should have won this by 20-30! Just give the sh*t talking a rest!

Mate you're crying about your 3 or 4 kids? The Raiders have a whole team of kids and they won away after trailing in the second half.

The margin is irrelevant. It was a great win and they'll take a lot of confidence from it. Good on them.

St George shouldn't be disheartened either - they'll probably still be minor premiers and a loss always fires teams up the next week. I thought Parra were a fair chance next Friday (coming off our own loss) but now the Dragons lost I'm far less confident. It could be a repeat of last year.

(The round 26 match, not the finals match played at the same ground just one week later.)

Pissing contest aside, well done to the raiders on the win, played very well.

I'm not upset about the loss so much (I think there's been one or two posts about reasons for that) but losing Dan Hunt for the season is a big blow for us. He was really stepping up this year.

If the Raiders can play like today a bit more often they'd be in for a sniff at the finals.

Never mind what I said earlier Gaba.

Looks like a few of the boys more than made up for your absence.

:lol::lol::lol: Dragons fans.

I can't wait until rnd 24, when we end your season just like we did last year.

And ftr, I haven't noticed many posts in here from Raiders fans gloating about the win. Most of us have simply been in awe of your glaring stupidity.

Regardless of who wins out of Pawwa and Stains, the pages of bitching, moaning and excuses from the loser will be hilarious

1. Josh Dugan- 25 games
6. Terry Campese -79 games
7. Josh McCrone- 15 games
9. Glenn Buttriss -33 games

1. Jason Nightingale- 67 matches
6. Jamie Soward -88 matches
7. Ben Hornby- 208 matches
9. Luke Priddis -301 matches

The dragons had a few players on debut but they had a vastly more experienced playmakers. Oh noes the outside backs were inexperienced well outside of Monas the Raiders most experienced outside back is Croker who has played 30 matches. (note those figures might be one game out because Troy Thompson hadn't been updated to 150 matches yet)

Let's play the game, you gronk.

Fensom < J Smith
Tongue < Creagh
Learoyd-Lahrs = Costigan
Shillington = Weyman
Miller = Hunt

Galea ... he played today, and yet you call yourself a Canberra fan .. whatever.

Carney < Cooper
Mogg < Anyone

Who else did you have out?

Not only were our outs either better or equal to your outs, we also had Boyd, Morris, Fien and Scott (3 Internationals in that bunch), and Emmett got injured at the start of the second half.

But OK, you were just as badly crippled by player outs as we were.

No denying you were the better side on the field today, though - and deserved winners of the match ... and I have already said congratulations for that victory!

The fact that St George had better players out than Canberra did doesn't prove anything. It's how important they are to the team. So really, your argument is worthless. Tongue may not be as good as Creagh but he is the captain and leader of the Raiders. Tongue is a bigger loss.

We had our entire left edge missing in Morris, Cooper, Creagh and Boyd. We were forced to effectively play with a 3 man bench and lost a player early in the 2nd half. We had 1150 games worth of experience on the sidelines and dare I say more than half our cap unavailable. I can't remember a team that had 4 players on debut in one game (even if one didn't get on the field).

No excuses for the loss, Raiders were the better team on the day, it was a quality contest considering the amount of personnel missing. I think both teams played incredibly well considering the circumstances. If it weren't for that 6 minute period after a somewhat dubious rake call, the game could have gone either way.

That game gave me a whole lot of confidence about our depth. None of the debutants looked like they didn't belong out there.

Congratulations Raiders, good win despite both sides having many players out.

You know, I was far more dissapointed with this loss, than the Storm or Manly. I really believed we could have taken this one out.

Are well, I'm certainly not whinging or making excuses, the better side won on the day, and thats all there is to it.

Really looking forward to the return match in Canberra. Lets see if we can break the hoodoo up there. Personally, I like Canberra as a team; dirty play is virtually non-existant, just good hard footy combined with some clever plays. Well done chaps.

I have also found the supporters are pretty good too.

Adam,

No, not at all.

We will all turn up with congratutory phrases and patting each other on the back. No whinging from me.

A lot will depend on the turnaround from Origin. I think it will be an interesting game, but certainly not a spectacular one. Saints to win this in a close one, mainly due to home ground advantage, although this didn't work for us against the Raiders.

Parra and Saints are always good contests and I don't really see this as being much different.

Have a good day Adam.

God there are some f**ktards in this thread.... and thats just from the Dragons side.....

We were beaten fair and square.... You can only play what is put out infront of you.

That Fai- Fai Loa looks good though on the wing, and with the way Stanley passes, who needs Gasnier.

I would give credit to the raiders but what's the bet they come out next week and turn into sh*t as usual.

Enjoy Mad Monday Raiders

Well they won't come out next week dumb*ss because they have a bye.

But we'll take the 2 points and move into the 8, thanks for coming.

The next game is the Titans in Canberra and the Titans have been systematically smashed on every trip to the capital so we'll happily deliver another belting to the Centre of Excellence.
