It's disappointing to lose under any circumstances and as a Dragon fan I normally hurt after a loss but this one seems like a pseudo loss.
Canberra were better than us TODAY but over the course of a full season we will prove to be a class above them. We will play them once more this year, this time in Canberra where their record against us is incredible. Even if that trend continues, I doubt it would be enough to see Canberra make the finals. They just don't seem to have what it takes to butter up week in week out. That's what I can be proud of with my team. Regardless of the situation, they put in. I'm proud of that.

It is just lucky for Dragon supporters that all those times they lost against the Raiders they are only pseudo losses. If only Raiders supporters had thought of that logic when the Storm beat us a trillion times in a row.

Although the Storm did cheat the cap.....

But seriously, all your sob stories are a little sad for you really. We were missing our entire forward pack.

Fensom
Tongue
Learoyd-Lars
Shillington
Josh Miller
Danny Galea

Then if you really want you can add a few others to that list if you really want.
Let's play the game, you gronk.

Fensom < J Smith
Tongue < Creagh
Learoyd-Lahrs = Costigan
Shillington = Weyman
Miller = Hunt

Galea ... he played today, and yet you call yourself a Canberra fan .. whatever.

Carney < Cooper
Mogg < Anyone

Who else did you have out?

Not only were our outs either better or equal to your outs, we also had Boyd, Morris, Fien and Scott (3 Internationals in that bunch), and Emmett got injured at the start of the second half.

But OK, you were just as badly crippled by player outs as we were.

No denying you were the better side on the field today, though - and deserved winners of the match ... and I have already said congratulations for that victory!

Although the Storm did cheat the cap.....

And continue to do so.........
BUT lets not go there, we could start and argument within an argument otherwise, god only knows if that happens we could all be reaching for the broom sticks to beat seven shades of sh*te out of each other under the shennanigans law of the early 1900's.
Which in a way would be kind of cool.

It isn't necessarily that those players are of equal worth of their Dragon equivalent but they are possibly as important to the Raiders. It is a shaky argument to argue that the Raiders are rubbish and then compare the Dragon and Raider players out man for man. If the third best player in the world played for the worst side in the world he would be a bigger miss than the best player in the world in the best side in the world.

Of course the Raiders are better than the Dragons. Just look at the scoreboard ;)

Have the Dragons lost a game this year where their fans didn't carry on like a bunch of prats afterwards? I can't wait to see the almighty choke happen yet again.

And a well constructed post it is.

What are you smoking? Those first 3 comparisons are absolute rubbish considering each player mentioned plays a vastly different role in their respective sides......fair dinkum some of you lot would think your sh*t doesn't stink

You don't watch State of Origin? Or any games that don't involve the Dragons for that matter?

You have failed to answer my question, and no I usually don't, SOO has lost its razzle and has merely become a mechanism for players to get injured, and maybe its just me but QLD seem to treat it a little bit more seriously than NSW.

who cares what players each team was missing. You can only beat the players on the field.

Canberra did, move on.

Some nice creative accoutning from the Canberra fans in this thread. And skeepe with his usual one-sided ref bashing, ignoring two Cnaberra tries of the back of dodgy calls.

I thought we did well enough for the players we had out, but Canberra played well, and really aimed up in defence (which is not something they're noted for, especially away from home). We already knew what their young backline is capable of, and they showed that today with some beautifully constructed tries.

The big story for me is the injury to Dan Hunt. That hurts us bad. He has been in outstanding form this year, far superior to anything Poore ever did (or is doing). I guess it's an opportunity for Trent Merrin to step up, but geez we're going to miss Hunt.
