tbh I reckon it was impossible to tell with the Talanoa try due to the limitations of camera angles. The ball got to a point where there was no visible gap between ball and ground. What else can you do?

You are dead right and it should have been given as "benefit of the doubt", not a certain try.

The slow mo showed the ball was incredibly close to grounding, too close to say yes or no.
