Hahaha. And Braybrook still going on about the Knights til they went to the Canberra game.

I'm a fair man & understand sh*t happens, but that sh*t tonight was ridiculous. Harrigan got ONE call wrong and it was the end of the world cos it went our way - Hayne got FIVE wrong and will get no stick.

Free ride all year? Absolutely Tonearm. Absolutely.

Lol @ Dragons fans having a whinge at the refs you merkins have had a free ride all f**king year.

Which games would they be?

Manly - when Gasnier & Nightingale were awarded a dubious tries? The same game where Williams is clearly in front of the kicker before he scores and Kite throws a grid iron pass for a try?

Roosters - where Minichello is awarded a try despite knocking it on twice and then Matt Cooper is denied a fair try minutes later?

Titans - where Matt Cooper has a fair try dissallowed in a game we lost by a point at the death of extra time. Where we had a player spear tackled and should have had a penalty but for some reason all five officials missed it?

Panthers - where we had two fair tries dissallowed in a game we lost 12 -8? One on a call from a touchie 67 metres away that the other three officials were all ok with.

And that's just the last 6 weeks or so.

Such gracious winners, if the refs cost the dragons the game i could understand but honestly... Good performance by the dragons most of the game, absolutely dominated us and some of our more redheaded powderpuffs in the middle. Nice to see Mad-dog clinch the record and Vuna to score 2 , sad to see him go.

 fmd Dragons' fans...can't you just enjoy the win? You must live sad lives if you can't even stop whinging for a second to celebrate a minor premiership win.

Very proud of Newcastle's effort to fight their way through the year after the way it started. I think they've shown enough in the back end of the season to allow fans to be very confident heading into 2011.

It was a pretty poor refereeing performance all round for me.

I thought the penalty count was pretty f**ked in the first half for the Knights and that the MacDougall try was ridiculous. The Dragons' discipline wasn't as good, nor the Knights' as bad, as the first half penalty count made them out to be. The Dragons were lucky and the Knights unlucky in that regard. However, there is no way Doogs scored that try. At first I thought momentum might have carried it over, but Morris clearly had him held up. It seemed like a classic 'oh we gave them a bit of rough ride in the first half, we'll let 'em have this one' call which should never happen, but quite commonly does. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Cooper's no-try was pretty confusing too, it seemed 50/50 to me, I never saw the ball actually touch the ground but assumed it had at some point. I was expecting a BOD call and I place it in the same category as the Doogs' try. I could make a case either way, but isn't that what BOD is for?

On the game, the Knights showed what they were capable of later in the game but they were way too weak in the first half. Credit to the Dragons, their defence was strong in that first half and it was a typical grind for them, but at the same I don't feel as if the Knights tested them enough. Also, the boys should be extremely embarassed about the Creagh try.

For a while there at 22 - 18 the Dragons looked pretty rattled but unfortunately in the end but our inexperience and their experience allowed them to hold on. The Knights couldn't put them to the sword and capitalise with a try which just made them lose all their momentum and caused the game to fall back into a grind - something they were never going to win against the Dragons.

The game was disappointing but not entirely surprising either, the better team won on the night.

I guess we're just living in fear, like all top 8 teams, that a finals game could be decided by disgraceful decisions like we saw tonight. The sad part is if we had lost the incompetant pricks would probably have been sacked but because we won nothing will be said.

It looks like everytime the Dragons fans have a whinge about the refs we get hammered in these forums, but its ok for other teams fans to have a whinge.
What im haveing a go at the refs for is, why do the video refs have BOD for? I think both trys should have been given BOD trys by the video ref.

I was as impressed with Saints first half as I was with Newcastles ability to at least ask some kind of question in the second half.

HOWEVER, and I don't give a sh*t about the rest of the refereeing, how the hell is Coopers try not given benefit of the doubt and Doogs gets a try when it looked for all money that he had been rolled over before getting over the line?
Fair enough, don't give the Cooper one, but on the rules of precedent don't give the McDougall one either.
How the f**k that was awarded is beyond me, particularly since they both came back to refs calls.

Coopers try went to Ref's Call because the Video Ref could get absolutely no indication of whether it was even a chance to be grounded.

Had the video ref been given a clearer view to show the ball going down, and then blocked at point of grounding it would have been BOD.

Simple rule of thumb - Replay with absolutely no indication goes to Ref's Call if the referee has 'an opinion'.

Loving Uate's Mr T mohawk, classy

Respect to the knights on a good fight and if they can consistently dish out performances like they have in the last few weeks then I can see them up there in the 8 next season. De Gois, Mullen, Vuna and Fa'aoso were all standouts for mine.

There were a lot of dud calls that went against Saints but the one I can't cope with is the ball that bounced off a Knights player and was caught by another Knight 3m in front of him and they ruled play on rather than a penalty to Saints. It was a massive call at the time and with 4 on ground officials "missing" it, what conclusion could you draw from it other than Saints were being rorted?
