My God this is a terrible thread.
We have some pretty woeful fans when they bag out some of our younger talent at the Club.
A lot of them were still sucking their thumbs at 22.
My God this is a terrible thread.
Where has Holmes threatened to leave the club? Honest question. I've heard him interviewed and he flatly refutes this.
He hasn't. He has never once threatened to leave. When have you ever heard a player personally threaten to leave ? I can't recall it ever happening. It's always done through side channels - managers and idiot dads leaking things to the media etc.
lewis is going to go on for another 1 + 1 by the sounds of it. Halway through the year & no word from Gal, so he will be here next year too.
Holmes has threatened, via his manager(under his control) so many times that even Flanno had to come out again this year & state "we wont be letting him go anywhere" after reports emerged again.
he stated, through his manager(again under his control) that he would leave if he didnt get the fullback jersey(which was given to him at the start of this year).
If you want to have a big mouth manager coming in at every team selection meeting & asking "what are you doing for my client" & then have that info leaked & published for your own benefit, then cop the deserved flak that comes with it.
Gal is irrelevant to our salary cap. everything is external. So he stays. Still the leading forward in the NRL & this year has dropped to 2nd best with Feefs taking over. How you consider that done is beyond me? All of the KP'is that matter to coaches he still leads in. Contact metres. Post contact metres. Play the ball times. Defensive efficiency. Then there is the old leadership thing. Unlesswe win this year, he'll play again next year & rightly so.If xerri is as good as you think he is then I wouldn't sign gal for another year
Lewis I'm on the fence with but gal is done
Unfortunately you have no clue what the go is with Xerri & are trying to catch up. If he wasn't so young, hed be playing centre for us already.Xerri is and will only ever be a Centre for us.
He just made a junior rep squad as a Centre as well.
If he kicks on and performs like he has in the Juniors he will be a very handy player.
He hasn't. He has never once threatened to leave.
But it is orchestrated by his manager? That's funny.
I'm pretty sure I just said that.Unfortunately you have no clue what the go is with Xerri & are trying to catch up. If he wasn't so young, hed be playing centre for us already.
for the others here, he is a massively built kid, not unlike Birdy, excpet probably better.

We dont get rid of a gun forward, who are hard to replace, to pay for a key back. We lose a dime a dozen winger, like Holmes & keep the gun.

No. You said he could only be centre. He could play 5/8 , back row, centre or fullback. just like BirdyI'm pretty sure I just said that.
True but he has just turned 18 so was unable to be registered for first grade unti this month I think. New NRL rules. What is he 18 ?
Plenty of 18yos have played nrl if they are good enough
Nick Cotric debuted last year at 18, I don't think those rules actually got passed.
