"Have we ever done that before? "

LWOS took off during the last off season as well and did pass 1000 weekly posts on at least two occasions.During the season proper we passed 1000 about two or three times and during the current off seasonwe have passed 1000 at least once before this week.
I'm not counting, but I'd say there have been about 7 or 8 previous times.., a guesstimate.

The postings have been steadilyincreasing... there's no doubt about that. All a great platform for when the footy season starts. Well done fellow forummers.:)

I'm no chat community specialist (currently active at only one other non-msn chat), but is 1,000 posts for the week on a chat forum a good achievement? Just wondering.
BTW how can you'll tell there's been 1,000+ posts here?

Grubrunner:
In the context of things its a good week. It means that discussion has been fairly constant and this means that we have been getting a wider variety of viewpoints.

IMO, a quiet week is less than 400 posts and 700+ is getting busy.

To view the NineMsn weekly counter (which is reset every Sunday), click on the link at the top of the page, 'My Groups'.

Grubrunner,
Click on the 'my forums' thing in the top right of the page for a weekly summary. It is updated (goes back to zero) every sunday evening.

I've seen msn forums get over 2000 posts, but those forums often have thousands of members.
I'd say this forum has the greatest percentage of active members of any forum.

where it says ""welcome grubrunner"" about 3/4 way up on the right is a "my groups"icon. click that.

1000 posts by 400 odd members ? not flash(2.2 ppmember) but not bad either.

Thanks for the replies and explainations gentleman. I appreciate it.
Mate I'm a new member of one other chat forum. It's not a NINE-MSN forum though. Been there for under a month.

I'm not surprised Roopy.

You'll recall the old 'away missions' to their AFL discussions that prompted the mods to start an NRL section in the Sportsbar. Butinstead of embracing new members, they worked hard to keep it for the elite.
I stuck it out for a while but the place is full of the worst kind of AFLwankers. (No offence to AFL supporters who are not wankers).

Up unitil last year I was still trying to make conversationbut they were totally f*cked in the head about anyone having an opinion that deviated from the garbage they spew out.
IMO, they've been sinking for a year... and they only have themselves to blame.

Willow,
Look at the 'Restaurant' thread on TFS.

I have to admit the Sports bar was the worst forum i have been to, but they did have a few good posters who came here for a while and have since left. I suppose the AFL fans couldn't find enough here to interest them.

I was reccommended the below chat communityby another friend who was already a member there. I went over there looking for discussions and mainly advice on my relatively newfound love, but I don't know if I'll hang around much longer though. The place seems to be full of kids and the type, who post alot of garbage day after day. They just recently added a SEX section in the discussions board which is getting more hits than a $20.00 hooker. Members are encouraged to post pictures and video links to all kinds of adult material. Strays away from the forum's jist if you ask for mine. It's not what I wondered over there for.
Among all that crap, there is the odd good discussion or two.
Surf thru knowing you've been warned about the adult content.

Roopy:
I did read the Restaurant thread at TFS. I was going to drop in with the offer of free meals but I saw that you matter well in hand.

The two restaurants in question do indeed serve great food and because of the distinctive flavours, they are understandably swapping recipes.

Meanwhile, the bar down the road makes Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz.
