club bias aside, I thought Matt Scott was pretty good tonight, I would have picked him or Dugan tonight as MOM, I really like Dugan, shows you don't have to be built like a brick sh*thouse to play our great game.

That Champion knock out, I felt sick when he hit the ground, that was not one of his finer displays of tackling technique.

Just got back from the game.
I felt Bird was targeted a bit by the refs (from my not too clear view) for a patch in that 2nd half, luckily Gallen returned to take some heat off him.

Dugan was great and without getting into the whole Hayne v Dugan debate, both need to be in the NSW side, with Hayne back on one pick and with Uate on the other.
Just on Uate, he showed tonight exactly why Nathan Merrit hasn't played rep footy.

Also, even though it was only a trial, Prince's form tonight was a bit of worry for us Titans fans

Mainly that he didn't actually put the ball down.

He put the ball down over the line without losing control. Was a pretty clear example of a try.

I hate the current interpretations of the grounding rules as much as anyone but i saw nothing wrong with that try.

I thought he knocked on, his hand seemed to be under the ball. I guess I'm in the minority.

Definitely in the minority. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Gallen, on the other hand, made absolutely no contact with the ball. Completely different circumstances.

And to go back to your earlier post, while I'm no fan of Cummins, it was Badger who made the call for the midair tackle.

Targeted? He played like a grub, which isnt anything new.

What did you all think of the Indigenous 21?
Anthony Mitchell - thought he was easily one of the best players for the Indigenous team and one of the better players on the field.

FFS, he was the best player out there, probably win the golden boot this year. Will take Cam Smiths No 9 jersey for Australia.

You thought he went ok, leave it at that. Why do you keep asking what everyone else thinks?

My thoughts:

- Dugan and Uate were great, both showed what they would add to the NSW team, they need to be selected

- Matt Scott was the best player on the field, he was a colossus, made huge metres

- Great to see Petero back to his best

- I thought as a whole the Indigenous side were pretty disappointing, they just looked disjointed and completely outclassed

- Another rep game, another case of Brett Morris doing very little

- Gallen showed once again why he is a liability at rep level, dumb penalties and dropped balls at key periods

- That Mitchell kid was very good, who does he play for?

- I didn't think Bowen was very good at all, he looks like he's lost a step and took some very poor options at times

- Great concept, great level of footy considering the time of year

Carl Webb looked fatter than ever, and is still a mistake a minute.

Good to see from a Cowboys perspective.

Are you his mum?

FFS I'm an Eels fan that is highly anticipating how he went. I wanted to ask people their opinions because he is the next big thing at our club. Get over yourselves, idiots  at least I am asking a sensible question rather than posting useless crap.

Carl Webb looked fatter than ever, and is still a mistake a minute.

Good to see from a Cowboys perspective.

 He made one error you moron.
He also made 14 runs for 100+ metres, was very fit and obviously trimmer than he has been - he didn't even seem to break a sweat throughout the game - and he looked far better playing around 50-60 minutes than he has playing shorter stints for you guys.

Agreed. Looked particularly good early on I thought

Even if he looks bigger, the fact remains that after playing around 50-60 minutes because Rose barely played, he didn't look tired at all. If he was still unfit he would have been blowing after five minutes.

And he won't even play that many minutes a game where he is doing most of the hard work once he starts playing for the Eels, he'll be fourth string prop.

The 'mistake a minute' jibe was obviously just that - a jibe - but still a very misinformed one.

Look, if I was a die-hard Cowboys fan, I probably would be very resentful too and I would want the guy to fail after he has underperformed so badly for you guys. But he looks fit, and he looks decent, which is all the Eels ever wanted. He'll be fourth string prop there, so if he under-performs it doesn't really matter.

Yeah no arguments here. It's going to cause so many selection head-aches though, what with Hayne, Morris, Mick Gordon, etc all eyeing off spots.

- Matt Scott was the best player on the field, he was a colossus, made huge metres

Yep definitely agree. He was my man of the match ahead of Dugan.

- Great to see Petero back to his best

He was brilliant, made a huge impact. Hopefully keeps his form up for the regular season! :)

- I thought as a whole the Indigenous side were pretty disappointing, they just looked disjointed and completely outclassed

Agree, I think the two main problems were that their forwards were completely outmatched by the NRL forwards, and also the problem was exacerbated by Thurston and Prince not doing enough.

- Another rep game, another case of Brett Morris doing very little

He made a few good touches and aside from his try and a few good runs he did nothing really.

- Gallen showed once again why he is a liability at rep level, dumb penalties and dropped balls at key periods

I agree in part, because Gallen is still easily one of the best forwards NSW and Australia have. Last year showed he is getting that out of his game. For his first hit-out he looked fine to me.

- That Mitchell kid was very good, who does he play for?

Eels, and as you can see from my over-zealous and constant comments about him, us Eels fans are extremely excited about him.

- I didn't think Bowen was very good at all, he looks like he's lost a step and took some very poor options at times

I think Bowen was man of the match for the Indigenous side, aside from a few others I think he was the best for them.

- Great concept, great level of footy considering the time of year

Yeah exactly, and I just simply cannot wait for next year's game!

So suddenly after a change of jersey, he is a gun. And you base this all on the fact that he didn't "look puffed"??

Id wait at least until a real game is played before you start annointing him as the next immortal.

Fat useless tub of sh*t that he is.

Where did I say that at all? All I said was he looks far fitter than he ever has and whilst playing more minutes a game than he ever will at the Eels he looked decent. So I'm happy and not disappointed.
