The thing is senses there was just far too much bias in the Tigers favour. Whether it's because the NRL wanted the Warriors out of the finals(maybe they feel we're a liability and will get a basketball score put on us in remaining game/s/) or the NRL have favoritism towards the Tigers... either way the calls were much more than a bad day at the office.

There was clearly a directive to put the Warriors at a disadvantage, for whatever reason.

Naturally when fans see such disgusting and biased cheating from the referees they're going to take it out on the Tigers as a team and the Tigers fans. Rightly or wrongly. Probably wrongly because the Tigers don't do anything on the field that other teams don't, and Tigers fans seem reasonable. But absolutely the referees were out to give your team the game today.

Ivan needs to go to the media and put the refs on blast. Doesn't matter that we won, something needs saying about the refs performance. I'd love to see him go for the neck of the NRL on the whole too, because I don't believe 2 referees can be that incompetent - There has to be more to their performance. I haven't seen a more inept and one-sided performance in finals football.

A shame for some of the Tigers boys too. Obviously I'm over the moon as a Warriors fan but I'd have liked to see Ellis get a Premiership at his time in the NRL and to be honest I don't see the Tigers doing it any time soon after this.

If the end result is a system where the game is perfectly reffed, I'd be all for it - but let's face it, Cleary would just be wasting 10K.

I'd love to see Ellis get one too!;-)

I don't know if it's a waste though. If the NRL are putting pressure on the refs to ref a certain why -- which is all conjecture by me, of course -- then 10k isn't much to pay to put institutional bias on blast.

Also being biased myself for a minute, a spray on the refs or something that brings attention to the refs putting the Warriors at a disadvantage would probably ensure similar didn't happen in our next game. So financially it's bad, but for our chances it could be a good preemptive move. Rather than whinging about ref decisions if we get screwed again, after the fact.

I'm very dirty about the way the game was reffed. If you re-read the thread it's amazing the number of neutrals saying the same thing. And maybe I don't post here enough, but I've never picked up on any prevalent Wests hatred - From what I've seen previously on here the Tigers have always been well appreciated by non-fans for the exciting style of football. for the amount of comments we had on the refereeing I think it's quite clear something about the refereeing just wasn't right, it went beyond incompetence and was something more sinister.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Vatuvei misses next week. Most people seemed to have missed it but I'm sure the Tigers fans saw him either kick or stamp or lash out at Beau Ryan on the floor. It was just before the last Warriors try. Beau certainly didn't like it, and it looked like Vatuvei and Ryan were about to go at it for a brief second.

Anyway good luck for next year senses and all the Tigers fans. You've got a good team with a great style of play, I think it's a shame that the players and fans are copping shit for referee decisions that as a team you have no control over. It's nothing personal against you but the refs didn't want the Warriors to win, of that I'm certain.

I hope we win just so the NRL can cop that

Thanks Masoe - there are obviously some people here who've had run ins with people in the gold, black and white in the past and want to take the chance to stick the boot in - it's standard fare after being knocked out of the semis for every team unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong. Some of my good mates are Dragons fans, and they no doubt will have their pound of flesh over this...

As for the penalty count, the Warriors were always going to be up against it in front of a pretty one eyed home crowd and didn't let it stop them. Kudos - the Warriors of 3 or 4 years ago probably would have rolled over well before halftime. And that Mateo %*(#^er had another good game against us - he really does love playing against Wests. And I'd agree - as long as the decisions were consistent week to week (and minute to minute) in interpreting the rules, that would be good.

Quite frankly I'd have no issue with the pendulum of refereeing luck swinging your way next week. Some you win. some you lose, and your team got a win despite the poor quality of refereeing.

I tuned into this game just as Johnson was putting up that bomb. Stoked about the result of course, particularly after our previous humiliation at the hands of Wests. Still, I love watching the Tigers and would have supported them if they'd gone through.

People suggesting there was a conspiracy to get the Tigers into the GF, pull your heads in FFS. The refs had a shit game, it happens.

People didn't believe me last week when I said the Tigers had the refs on their side, but I think tonight proved it beyond any doubt.

That was up there with Maxwell's hatchet job on Newcastle - also in favour of the Tigers - with most disgusting refereeing performance of the season

I know you're not a big fan of referees in general but I 100% agree.

The officials last night were disgraceful and should be barred for the rest of the series.

I'd just like to say that I was preparing to come on here and say that the Tigers had the game rigged in their favour, so full credit to the Warriors for playing against the refs + my team but...

That last try was not a try. Watch it again, the referee blew the whistle and went to the video referee BEFORE Inu reached out for the second time.

It was a try.

I didn't think united touched it but what impressed me most about the try was inu doing 10 push ups, 18 lunges and the worm before the tigers could lay a hand on him.

So happy to hear the pain Warren Smith's voice and Alexander is up there as the most annoying commentator on TVs.

How bad was Warren Smith's commentary.
I watched the replay of it on fox last night, everybody knew he was a Tigers fan already but he showed it badly in his call last night.

Yes it was a try but mcdougall is correct, just watched it again & the refs arms are in the air to signal time off before inu puts it down.
But who cares, if Farrah or Benji kick the ball on the 5th they win the game

The referee needs to be sacked just for that, never mind the disgrace that was the rest of the game. You wait until play stops before calling for the video, it's a f**king fundamental part of their job.

Well written Skeepe!!!

The warriors until 78 minute try were basically getting raped by these devious referees.

Isn't karma a bit*h?
:D:D:D

Benji scores a stroke of luck try against the Dragons and the Warriors score a stroke of luck try against the Tigers.

Yeah I noticed this morning the whistle was blown as Inu was putting the ball down for the second the time, god knows what Harrigan can do with these clowns during the week.

Anyone watch the U20's game??? Roosters took a short drop out and regathered the ball just on the other side of the 10m line in the middle of the field, but the 10m line actually disappears underneath the Bundy White Rum logo so the ref made the call that the ball hadn't gone 10m and awarded penalty to the sharks (It was play on for mine, but I don't blame the ref as it was hard to judge with the massive logo and no line to judge on) This sort of unprofessional shit irks me no end, having the logos on the field partially blocking vital field marking is just asking for trouble, the way the game was going last night, I was just waiting for something similar to happen in first grade.

Yep, saw that Roosters U20s moment. Very unfortunate. The NRL needs to do something about that. Perhaps move the advertising slogan past the 10 metre line, given its an important refereeing line.

Great performance from the outside backs for mine. I thought we were getting rolled in the forwards in the first half, they were certainly more agile in and around the ruck and the pack were getting slaughtered. But to me, Vatuvei, Tupou, and Lewis Brown played a massive part in getting our sets going and giving the pack a bit of a rest. I thought the game also turned when Ben Matulino came on. He was exceptional at times with some of his bursts. I also thought Simon Mannering and Micheal Luck made some excellent cover defence tackles on the fringes and Mannering I thought did a lot of hard work all around. Anyhow, the turnaround in Manu Vatuvei was outstanding, and its good to see him back charging at his best.

The refereeing was deplorable. Shayne Hayne should be hung out to dry if he did start blowing while momentum was still on in the Inu try. Other than that its a fairly clear cut try. I found it laughable that some foxsports turd posted that Inu had clearly knocked on and the try was extremely controversial. Nowhere near a knock on at any stage. Some of the strip calls were outlandish there last night.

On Benji Marshall, exceptional for the first 75 minutes. But he must have rocks in his head (along with the rest of the Tigers) to go for a last tackle run play around halfway with about 4 minutes to go. Marshall is a great player. But a champion like Lockyer or even a Cameron Smith... they know thats not the time for that play and they get it into the corners and trust their defence.
