Nobody else has commented on the Bulldogs try. Perhaps we're blinded by our hatred of St George? I'll have to have a look at the replay before I pass judgment.

It looked like a pretty obvious offside to me, and the one front-on replay they showed just after it was awarded, it looked like Idris lost it into the Dragons player in front of him. If that goes to the video, there's no way it gets awarded.

Well played Bulldogs. You brought your A Game to the reigning champions. Failed in the first half but managed to muscle up in the second half. Better luck next week... consistency is the key. Hope you can carry it on. Who are you playing next week?

The Raiders in Canberra.

Well played Dogs, feel very fortunate to get away with that one.

As for our blokes, they have all the belief in the world when it comes to defence. How about believing in each other in attack? 14 -0 up and taking penalty goals.. get f*cked with that sh*t already, time to evolve. We will never know how good this team can be unless they start backing themselves in those situations

Still, cant complain too much being 9-1 :D

Despite Soward's weird choices towards the end I must say f**k his bombs and general kicking were sensational all night. The guy just does not waste kicks. Nice cover defensive option too in broken play. I still put him in a sky blue jersey, but am worried about his hard on for field goals 15 mins out.

in terms of getting a jumper, he deserves it. best #6 in NSW.

in terms of succeeding in the unique arena that is state of origin....................i lack the faith.

ricky probably has no choice but to give him a jumper and see what he can do. but personally, i saw enough in the last 15 mins of this match to have the opinion that he'll be yet another NSW origin bust.

ricky does not necesarily have to pick a team of best players in each position. he has to pick a team that has balance and can best execute the strategy he is going to implement. if Soward is in those plans, than so be it. but the #6 has to be great leader, not just a good player. i dont think the Soward is the right guy.

dogs dont have enough attacking options to worry the top teams

ennis, turner, j morris are absolute geniuss. keating good runner but nothing else, hodkinson not flashy enough

if its not from barba or payne they have nothing

Keating is rubbish, he always seems to get caught with the ball. They dont seem to play with any depth when they are attacking the line either, very one dimensional and probably not helped by their one dimensional hooker.

Are you for real? They won the game, they are 9-1, they had players playing rep football backing up.

Still not sure of the point you are trying to make.

Maybe I'm not making any real point. I just thought that the composure and mental strength they have become known for was not there. Last year after rep games they still managed to maintain their defensive structure and composure for long periods of the game. That was the standard.

We lost to Manly this time last year.

Red v Blue.

I know the crowd wasn't up to expectation but the game was. I hope these matches build up even more as time goes by.

Would be good to see them meet again during the finals.

Also can people stop talking B Morris up for a spot in the centres for NSW. At least Idris has some form of impact. What does Brett do?

To me kevin moore has to take that on .... If they were - Lett and + Tim Lafai i think they would have won that game . Micheal Lett is just garbage whether it's under a high ball , goalkicking ( ! ) ,or his general physical weakness especially compared to what i have seen from Lafai .

Dogs halves had a pretty poor kicking game again. Barber - a fullback that doesn't take the high ball or return it???

You are entitled to your opinion but I think you are being harsh on sowie. The dragons forwards were out on their feet in that last fifteen.

Merrin, hunt, creagh, prior, cuthbertson all played their third game in a week.

I'm a dragons fan and there was nothing wrong with the Hodkinson try. Idris was on side and didn't lose it forward.
The dogs gave it their all fresh off the bye and some of the dragons can have a well earned rest next week whilst many play origin. To come back from the UK and be 9 and 1 going into the bye having played just twice at home is a phenomenal effort.
