Cows by 13+ in front of the home crowd. Injuries have really hurt the knights (even though we're missing Winterstein, Tate and Bolton). Our forward pack has a lot of quality depth this year. While last year we'd have 3 good forwards and fill the rest of the pack with duds, this time around we're much stronger even with Boltons injury.

We'll miss Gidley far more than Costigan or De Gois, but I still expect a closely fought game, probably won by the Cowboys by a converted try.

My 13+ tip is not intended as a slap in the face for knights fans, i just feel like the boys have got something special in store for their fans for the first home game of the season, it just so happens that we face a depleated knights outfit and are coming off a great away win over arch rivals, the broncos. The huge change in attitude we showed last week is what has most cowboys fans excited about our prospects in season 2011. Turning up for each other and the willingness to dig in and hang on is something we haven't seen from a NQC side in several seasons. Im certainly not suggesting that we're going to win every game (or even perform well in every game) but the evidence of the work we've done over the break was there for all to see last week. We've gone through a radical change at the club during the offseason, probably moreso than any other club in recent years has experienced and i just have this feeling in my guts that the boys want to show their home fans what the 2011 Cowboys are all about. They get that chance on Sat night and i think they're going to deliver something special.

I'm sure the Knights will target the f**k out of Bani though, Uate against him....urggh...I just hope he's ready for it.

i think Gidleys official ommission is probably one of the last nails in the coffin for our chances this week given that Shannon McDonnell is his replacement... however i suspect the cowboys might be a bit flat after last weeks effort, too. theirs was a tougher game than ours.
