Gould talks Queensland up just to tear them down.

His call last year was down right unprofessional.

Never understood why people get so sooky about commentators showing the slightest hint of bias (even though most of it is imaginary anyway... eg. NSW fans: Gould loves talking up QLD. QLD fans: Gould is just setting us up for a fall).

Adds a bit of colour to the commentary. No one has ever been in any doubt who Vautin and Wally are going for.

That said, I kind of draw the line at Gould and Rabs' grumpy old men routine.

Is going to an absolute cracker of a game. Both teams have picked great sides, NSW are only really missing watmough who should be playing. And no Gidley! Happy days for NSW

Loving the fact that its guaranteed to be a dry game under the roof.

Although Qlds bench has plenty of impact, Taylor and Gillett have quite a few mistakes in them which is what I'm worried about. Can't wait!

The only colour in commentary is Blue. Wally spends more time on the fence than the actual sideline & even then rarely gets two bobs worth in.

Setting us up for a fall is a well documented Gould tactic from his coaching days. Would talk Qld & Brisbane up to his players to get them to lift for the challenge. His mind-set hasn't changed and he'll go OTT about Qld before s**tting on them & their achievements the instant the Blues go alright. (eg. Origin 3 '09, Origin 2 '11)

He'd be better on the pre & post panel with Vautin where they can be as passionate as they want to be.

And he should stay the hell away from Test games. His work in 2010 was down right rotten.

I think NSW need to start really well to stay with QLD. I think if you look back over the games from the last 6 series wins, QLD have dominated the first 30 minutes in most games through their dominant forward pack.

If NSW can match QLD at the start, I expect NSW to take a lead into half time of about 6-12 points. If they can match that effort in the second half and stop the class of QLD shining through, then NSW will win.

If NSW let QLD's class players have the run of it, I expect QLD to win comfortably, 14+.

No Lockyer will mean QLD will need to look elsewhere for the class plays when it matters.

I think it should be a very high class game and I can't wait!

BTW, whoever it was made the comment about working at McDonalds because you might get rostered on night shift. You know Police work shift work, right? Some of them have to work SOO night.

I give Phil Gould 10 mins before he rattles something like

"Qld are looking tired"

Every game, every year...same old same old.

QLD by 14

Seriously?

Last 10 minutes of EVERY Origin game it's "Queensland always score last in Origin", "see, that from QLD, that's Origin"...

He couldn't blow more smoke up Queensland arse if he tried.

The imbo starts out talking up NSW, ends up talking up Qld. He moves with the breeze.

Look at those maroon forwards.. you could throw a hankerchief over them!

Blues lead 2-0 after 25 minutes... Qld are shell-shocked here!

So then how is he biased? Sounds like he does his best to balance his viewpoint throughout a match.

I seem to be finxing teams I back to win so go QLD by 12.

I would rather see QLD win with plenty of injuries to QLD players, Then NSW win with injuries to Creagh & Merrin.
Note to Sticky don't play the St George Boys.
We need them fit and ready for the the real NRL comp not this bullshit exibition game.

Yeah Gould will throw that up when QLD make him look silly with his earlier comments of "QLD look tired here, NSW are all over them".
Gould bets each way to save face if his "winner" gets a "place"

The areas where Queensland will win:
Robbie Farah: He may be the captain of West TIgers though Farah does not have the style of origin football. Remember what he does for the Tigers will not be able to be produced in Origin as the faster pace makes it very difficult for his state teammates to all be on the same page. He will need to curb some natural instincts in order to play within the confines of the team performance. He must also play straight, as going across-field too often looking for runners will be playing into the hands of the Queenslanders. Defensively he is very bad and thats where the Queenslanders will target. To be honest, NSW had no choice on picking him as Buderus was out, Ennis hasn't performed since recovering from his injury and well Hinchcliffe has been playing at FR, LK or SR not particularly hooker...
Jennings: Jennings choice came at a surprise to me. Why pick a guy who is holding an injury as well as playing for the State Cup? It just doesn't make sense and well with Josh Morris playing at RC we will defiatley see the Queenslanders of Cronk, Slater, THaiday, Scott and Hodges all attack him. He really doesn't stand a chance if he is collecting an injury with him
Hayne: Hayne hasn't been performing well since coming back from injury and to be frankly honest his struggling of holding ball will definately will be a boost for the Queenslanders. I would have loved to see B.Morris in the side with Hayne at utility though the selection is the selection and Hayne needs to perform very good as he usually does at origin time.
Jamie Buher: Well this one was a definate surprise. He needs to step his game as origin is so much tougher than the real world. Apparently he may be starting for the first 10 minutes at hooker as NSW want to get a good start. Lets hope he does well otherwise his lack of experience will cost NSW points

You sir have no clue. You say he is Defensively bad. Have you watched any Tigers games. You think that he misses 8 or 9 tackles a game. His missed tackles avarage is less than 2. Geez another person that says that his game is not suited to origin. If I had a doller for all of the people that has said that I would be a millionaire. I think that you have been listening to Blocker a bit too much.

I hope that Farah has a big game to shut all of his critics up once & for all.

His defense is weak though. He grabs. Generally he gets away with it, but it's not like he's making strong, dominant one on one tackles either.

Not to say that Ennis or the average hooker is hugely superior. Buderus and Smith certainly are though.

Buderus?

Maybe 3-4 years ago. He's a shade of the player he once was and on watching a number of Knights games this season, I struggle to see the fuss this year.

Buderus? Seriously? He has done nothing all year. Newcastle players have failed in origin since 2006.
They certainly like to captain NSW to series defeats - Buderus 3 and Gidley 2
