You're right, it wasn't MON... it was the Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos with the quote, distancing the Eels from future use of player options in the new Ryles era.

Of course as you always remind us, the club knows best!
Did you read what he said? He said they might limit the number of options that come up at the same time. He didn’t say they would stop using them. You just keep making shit up. You previously claimed Ryles said it ffs

But TPAs mean you can pay them less under the cap, so they have the same purpose. Apples and oranges are both fruit ffs
Less under the cap compared to what? The player is entitled to take his TPA and the money that goes with it and go to a club that is offering more from their cap. It's all separate and at arm's length from the club... or so the NRL tell us....

I am interested to hear from others who are old enough to have enjoyed the 4 GF wins in the 80's and the the drought that followed.

Just a simple observation from my POV, and certainly no fault on you, but the Brad Arthur era was a tropical island holiday compared to previous years.

No I am not being a hugger. Well, others will determine if I am or not.

I wasn't old enough to see our last Premiership win (I was 1 year old), but I think Arthur was exactly what we needed at the time.

He galvanised the club, brought in some quality players, and made us generally competitive on the field.

But he hung around too long, and towards the end of his tenure, it became apparent that his lack of willingness to evolve as a coach was chasing more harm, than good.

I thank him for what he achieved in his time with us, but moving him on was the right move.
