Still did more for us in one year than Anasta ever has or ever will. The same people chanting Carney Army in 2010 every week are shitting on him in 2011 & 2012

Awesome result for Penrith great to see Jennings getting some more ball but most important for me was keeping the Roosters to zero. It's a long time since our defence has looked even remotely likely or capable of keeping any team to zero, let alone actually doing it. And to do it without 4 players who normally be in our 17. I'm pretty happy right now.

Still a long way to go but for me positive signs.

We wouldn't have scored against anyone today. Woeful. Hope there's a few changes to our backline quick smart.

I'd take either of the wingers from todays game over David Simmons TBH. David Simmons only ever looks good on the back of some Jenko work.

Other then that we were down Tim Grant (our best forward by miles last week), Michael Gordon (our best back by miles since 2010) and Blake Austin who is our most promising young player. I thought for sure we would be outclassed and struggling to contain the Roosters, but when our team structure wasn't disrupted by injury we looked a million times better and put in one of the gutsiest defensive performances we've done in years.Even in the 78th minute when the game was over, the boys were still playing hard and just never stopped trying.

Much better then the Panthers of years past where we played 35 minutes of great footy then let the opposition in for a few quick and easy tries at the end of each half.

How sad. I'd take Simmons back in a heartbeat, and he was somewhat justifiably pilloried by Sharks fans when he was with us.

Penrith's close and hard fought loss last week to a rampaging Bulldogs doesn't seem so bad now. They definitely look tough up front and fast out wide from the opening rounds. Good win today.

Roosters seem to have played 5 minutes of good football so far this year. They will need a bit more in the coming weeks.

This is a massive game for the roosters, there will be a step up in quality as we finally play a side worthy of 1st grade.

I look forward to the challenge.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

What challenge, you lost to a club the dogs killed playing like shit.

You didn't score a point, and the were without the best forward from last week in tim grant.

BAHAHAHAHAHA

spooners.

Some quality insight there from the Bro.

Once SKD and Moga return the Roosters will go a lot better, need to stop some of the soft tries though.

To be fair the Panthers defence against the Bulldogs was out of sorts once Michael Gordon was out injured. It then got considerably worse as the injury list grew bigger. Even then an 8 point win is hardly that big.

Fortunately for both the Panthers and Bulldogs though, both teams had much more up their sleeves in Round 2. Bulldogs looked a million times better against the Dragons, and the Panthers were able to stick strong for the 80 minutes this week when injuries didn't disrupt us.

I look forward to seeing what we can do with Tim Grant, Blake Austin, Michael Gordon and Nigel Plum back in the side and hopefully not losing any players during a game. IMO those 4 would make our defence much stronger again, along with Flash and Grant probably being able to add close to an extra 200m gained between them.

It baffles me that the rest of LU doesn't do the same.
