Yeah...na.

They are just not good enough. This isn't Union. When it comes to League they are not our equals and as long as we bring it and take them seriously, we win.

So you're saying one-off April/May tests are when we take them seriously?

We certainly don't do a great job of it in tournament finals.

Obviously one-off tests are more important :lol::lol:

Lucky the only person dumb enough to fall for that dive was Darius Boyd himself.

Fairly competitive test. The ANZAC game has been a bit closer the last few years. There was a several year stretch where I was turning the game off after 20 minutes.

Marshall was quiet, but the forwards didn't give him and Johnson room. They didn't do much, bar Johnson's try I thought both of them were average and looked like they never practiced. In the 4 nations they will click though.

Nope because he made some bad blues, the decision to listen to his touchies when Inglis dropped it cold and Thursty whinged the touchie into a decision.

Thursty passing the ball of the ground, being a play the ball.

Hell I even think the penalty on Fien for two points in the last part of the second half was bullshit.

So no I think one ref was crap.

Also whats the reason for Australia basically playing with 16 men, and DCE being basically a injury reserve? f**kin crazy why not use that bench spot for an extra forward?? Obviously Sheens didn't want DCE picked ala Aaron Raper for NSW.

Terrible refereeing tonight. Just shocking.

The worst call in my opinion was awarding the scrum feed to Australia that led to Smith's try.

Yes, Hoffman knocked on, but Thurston kicked the ball forward, thus taking his advantage. Should have been a New Zealand feed.

Hahaha, welcome to the wonderful world of Sheens.

Feel a bit sorry for Daly Cherry-Evans....didn't even get a run! They should have put Gillett onto the bench...at least he would've gotten some minutes!

Just came on to post about that. I think it devalues the Australian jersey and the international game if you pick a player to sit on the bench, all with preparing for "the future". If you aren't good enough to replace what's out there, then you don't get picked as far as I'm concerned.

The way that Tim Sheeens picks his rep teams is always have a back up half on the bench, rather than planning for the future.

Not that I agree though. With both Cronk and Thurston in the team, if we lose one with injury we still have the other to lead the team.
Gillett would have been more useful on the bench, can cover more positions and would get a run rather than bench warming

Dce? Wasted should have been another forward, at least Gillet 18th man would have probably got a run

Hope dce doesn't get utility for qld

Great match..

Should be a 3 match series..

Good to see some players in the speeches make pointed comments about making sure this Test stays unlike the media stories today that reek of a agenda..

If it was a 3 match series, after tonights performance, I think we'd be seeing a classic tour..

Thurston is a slightly surprising MoTM choice to me.

Not sure who else I would prefer though, Hannant maybe.

Well all the bullshit and bluster about how the Kiwis were gonna smash and bash Tamou was nowhere to be seen.

I thought Cronk looked below par for most of the game. His timing was off on a number of occasions

Thought Thurston was sublime, just some of the little things. Cam Smith and Hannant could be considered unlucky. Cam Smith standing up when it mattered a la Lockyer.

On the Kiwis side, Hoffman is a keeper at fullback. New Zealand's most lethal player out there tonight, safe under alot of high balls and did it all with a dodgy ankle. The Marshall/Johnson combo wasnt all that smooth but they will definitely get better with more game time.
