Great gutsy won by our boys with the core of our defence out and our star player Inglis. Really proud of that win and with our defence.

Newcastle fans should be excited about that Mantellato bloke. Wow, he was really impressive and great kicking from the sidelines.

Reading some of the comments here makes me wonder what some people's issues are. It's as if they only watch games cause they're hoping we'll lose. And when we don't they throw a tanty not forgetting to of course blame the refs  Some of these peeps need to get a life!

Anyway good on the Knights. I was prepared for a loss tonight, you gave us a great run. Looking forward to meeting again when we're both full strength.

Mantellato's goal kicking was awesome, don't watch the lower grades much so it was the first time I've seen it.

I browse through these forums from time to time, every time I do, I shake my head in disgust reading the dribble that bunniesman comes up with. I'm a proud Souths fan, but even for me it's embarrassing seeing the garbage he writes every week.

Forever giving Souths fans a bad reputation.

As much as I'm one of those on this forum who loves a good LOL@5(c)uff$, I applaud you not only on the win tonight but also for speaking the truth against one of your so-called fans. I will go as far as to say that Bunniesman is one of the main reasons why many supporters from other clubs love to LOL@5(c)uff$

Although I dunno if he has a future at Newcastle (due to the plethora of wingers and centres we have), he definitely has a future in the NRL. Look forward to seeing more of him in the future and hopefully makes the Italian side at this year's World Cup

Was extremely impressed with his performance tonight, did very well in both attack and defence. His goal kicking was superb.

I was explaining to a couple of guys at work tonight how on a popular RL forum I used to frequently post on, Souths went from being just another team a couple of years ago to being the most universally hated team by a mile because of one f**kwit Rabbitohs fan.

He's on my ignore list for a reason I've no idea why everyone doesn't do the same

I would pay just to watch the guy kick goals from the touch line. That hook he does is just simply amazing to watch.

Just got home and read through this - the amount of bitching and moaning from butthurt Newcastle fans is absolutely unbelievable.

Apparently there are no genuine penalties in rugby league anymore, just 'piggyback' penalties. If LU had its way there would be no penalties at all because sides are apparently 100% disciplined in today's NRL. Sorry - every team except Souths, as there were no complaints during last week's 11-3 count.

Ah well - we'll just enjoy winning, again. Have a great night everyone.

Great win by Souths tonight.

Reading through this thread, I just wish there could be some decent discussion through a souths gameday thread.. But between the souths haters, and the souths fan watching from home, that's not possible.

Sutton showed that he is an origin player imo, kicking game was pin point, got us at least 3 repeat sets, and he scored a nice try. George Burgess is a beast.

Hate Souths as much as you want but we were the better team tonight. Newcastle put in a good performance though. We got a slight rub of the green with the refs, but the first Knights try came off a forward pass I thought.

I'm not responsible for the actions of others. The haters hate because they choose to hate. I pity anyone who lets themselves be influenced by a stranger on the internet.

As for the game, we deserved to win. We were the better team. The knights played well and at full strength look like a top 6 team.

But at fully strength we're a top 1 or 2 team.

George Burgess is something special. Keary belongs in 1st grade. Look forward to having 4 top players back 2 weeks from now.

Luke Burgess will be back too, though might spend some time at Norths first

Keary did nothing eye-popping but boy does he have CLASS.

Even on Walkers try didnt over-play his hand and go to to the line but gave the early ball out wide.

Will go even better once he has Inglis making those spaces between the defenders just a little bit bigger.

If the Bunnies are meant to be the benchmark then this competition is wide open IMO. I know they were missing Inglis and Burgess, but considering the Knights were missing most of their backline and 1st and 2nd choice hooker I think that more than evened out.

The Knights are in a world of pain at the moment. They can't keep a player on the field or win a penalty to save their lives.

Oh well, I've seen enough to know that if we can stay in touch with the top 8 we'll be up there come the end of the year if we can get some players back. We're not that far off the side currently coming first ( taking into account the personel both sides had missing). We're gradually improving. It's just hard to improve a lot when you can't keep the same side on the park for longer than a week.

If Souths offered Newcastle Inglis, Burgess, McQueen and Teo for the players you had out, theyd have there bags packed before Rusty put the phone down.

Theyd probably even throw in Rochow and Naiqama out of sheer guilt for robbing the Bunnies cold.
