Not only that but if they can't beat the Tigers away then they have little chance of beating any team away.
Yeah, I mean, can you imagine if they played a game in Melbourne this season?

Melbourne would slaughter them!

In fact, Melbourne could even rest Cronk and still beat them.

Lets just put it down to the idiots being unable to beat the tigers and believing their own hype and move on. How often does it happen that the papers talk up the raiders and they play like a bunch of busted arses and the tigers were good enough to take their chances and we weren't.

I think we handled the conditions better.
Smoe crucial errors to canberra couldve seen the score blow out.
Raiders forwards did the job, I dont think we put one on their backs in D...always getting half thru the line and getting quik ptb's
Our kicking game while not brilliant was probably the best Ive seen, more often than not finding grass.
Blair had probably one of his best games, Benji really played fairly controlled bar that offload attempt on 0 tackle...Meaney worried crap out of me - good to get the win and move away from the bottom a bit more

You tactically played well. The quick shifts to try and take the forwards out and the raiders predictably having a compact defensive line. Don't know if it was the coach or benji just going hey this literally always works against the raiders.

We played arrogantly, you guys played smart. It was not the conditions to be playing like arrogant tools

Unfortunately Canberra only play 1 away game in Melb. But, hey, you cling onto that win. It may very well prove to be your team's season highlight if they miss the 8.

Nah, there have been a few highlights this season.

The very next week after the win over the Storm was a good one too.

I like the looks of Sami Sauiluma....looked dangerous evey time he had the ball....early days but looks promising

agreed
Im not sure he's Edrick Lee, Jack Wighton level of talent but he showed enough to think he could be a good squad filler and capable at NRL level when injuries hit and/or fergo gets on the piss

Outstanding. There's two positives you can take away from this season. Made up for the fantastic performance in R4! :D

I think the Raiders will fall outside the 8 pretty shortly. Like us, they aren't consistent enough to stay at the top for very long.

Actually beating a team in the top 4, there's another two positives...

You've already mentioned the away win v Melbourne. Can't keep clinging to that all season especially if Canberra miss the eight. Will mean jack shit in the end. I see you failed to mention the four losses to bottom eight teams. Kinda takes away from the two positives hey.

I think the Raiders and Knights are very similar actually. Poor away from home, have a good go against the top sides but fail to turn up in games they should win. That's why I laughed when some Raiders fans were in the Knights/Storm thread last week when we went down by 2 gloating that their spot in the 8 was safe. No it's not. They're the same as us: terrible.

No one said our spot in the 8 was safe. Simply that a 4 point gap between the top and bottom 8 had emerged. Which it has. This game we should never have lost but due to the fact there was a 4 point gap, we could somewhat afford this horrendous slip up.

Prior to this game, Canberra had won 7 of 12 games with Devcich as referee, including all 4 games last year.

Tigers had won 3 of 6 games with Devcich as referee.

Pretty moronic of anyone to suggest that he was helping the Tigers.

Conditions were shit, Tigers were shit but Raiders were shittier than both combined. Dumb play against an injury ravaged team full of inexperienced kids missing their two best players.

Raiders had that attitude of "Turning up is enough for victory"

They should never have lost to the Tigers. In fact, they should have racked up a cricket score in all honesty.

Skeepe you bitch and moan about the refs, but they didn't cost Canberra a game they should have won by 40. It was pathetic application in attack, woeful attitude and a complete lack of leadership which cost them.

No team should be losing to a Tigers side with so many injuries and without Farah and Woods in it.

No team at all.

Not really. If you lose next week (which is highly posible considering you're playing Souths) and any of the Knights, Panthers, Broncos or Warriors win you could be a few spots out of the 8. Not saying that will happen, but it shows how close the comp really is. So no, there really is no gap at all.

 No gap at all? It was 4 points you fool. Simple mathematics.

Which is what was said, the fact that a team might go on a losing streak or a winning streak is of no consequence to the fact at the end of last week, there was a 4 point gap between 8th and 9th. And if that scenario does play out we will only be out of the 8 on F/A. That's the magic of the 4 point gap that you dont think exists. We could afford to lose 2 games on the trot not be chasing the top 8. It'd just bring us back to the pack, which is what might be what happens.

Based on your theory i could say the gap between Souths and Canberra isnt really a gap, because if they lose 5 on the trot and we win 5 in a row, we'll be on equal points. Never mind there is a 10 point gap

The competition is close but a 4 point gap is a 4 point game. It's two weeks of wins and losses.
It didnt not exist just because the dogs and raiders lost.

Now if anyone here hasnt picked up on this this bog is clearly rambling of a man hedging a bet 10 ways, its kinda like ramble of an indecisive child, oh i do not know wil it rain ? wont it rain ? do i pack the umbrella? do i just keep looking at myself in the mirror? if i do keep looking at myself in the mirror ,do i like what i see, ? its just all to much fr this show pony, this is it tightened, you mark my words , the raiders will just scrape into the eight , simple decisive , tight, confident, not self righteous or smug just decisive,
thanks for playing , now thats smug lol

I never said that the 4 point gap didn't exist. Stop trying to put words in my mouth. What I said was that making comments one week ago saying that you wouldn't be needing to check behind the Raiders back because of that 4 point gap was incredibly stupid and arrogant given that the teams following you had a guaranteed 2 points lined up the following week.
